Welder

Position Summary The Welder performs preventive maintenance, fabrication welding, refurbishes refuse containers and compactors, rehabilitates scuffed paint, installs decals and ensures accurate repair and replacement of components. The starting pay range for this position is $18-$25 per hour Key Responsibilities • Performs repairs on all sizes and types of containers and compactors including road repair. • Performs inspections on all welding and cutting equipment to ensure safe operating procedures • Maintains inventory record keeping and assuring adequate material to complete all assigned work efficiently. • Maintains a clean, safe work area to ensure compliance with company and OSHA requirements and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. • Performs preventive maintenance inspections, diagnostic and repair of electrical and hydraulic systems on compactors. • Assists senior welders in the completion of project work. • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values. Education, Experience & Qualifications The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, equipment maintenance and repair experience, a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment, be 18 years of age or older and be legally eligible to work in the US. Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills, proven commitment to work and a dedication to safety are required. Welding and fabrication skills are expected and the candidate must be a self-directed person. Machine Operator/Welder - Full-time

Overview: ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing of metal components. Specific duties and responsibilities of the Machine Operator include, but are not limited to: • Operating a sheet metal press brake. • Operating stamping equipment, air press and Upcut saw. • Loading and unloading vibratory deburring equipment. • Operating a belt sander to smooth sharp part edges. • Retrieve raw material from inventory location. • Retrieve dies and tooling from fixture rack • Log in and out of ERP system. • Load raw material into fixtures. • Helping to package parts for shipment. • Welding 2-year experience, certified welder a plus. Minimal welding to start. Salary Range: $25-$30/hr. Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • High school diploma, GED or equivalent • Must possess some mechanical ability with using machines and tools. • Must be able to read a tape measure. • Must pay attention to detail when following procedures. • Ability to regularly stand for long periods, walk, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch. • Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. PREFERRED SKILLS • Prior experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment is preferred. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) – REGULARLY REQUIRED • Safety glasses • Gloves • Dust mask • Hearing protection • Steel Toed Shoes WORK ENVIRONMENT • While performing the duties of this job, the employee can be exposed to moving mechanical parts. • Occasional exposure to fumes and or airborne particles is possible.
