SIE is seeking a highly skilled Welder to join our team. The Welder is critical to the success of our construction projects. Job Summary: The Welder is responsible for welds and assembles metal pieces and products by using handheld welding equipment. The Welder sets up parts for welding; uses hand tools, clamps, jigs and fixtures. The Welder Works from specifications, drawings, weld symbols and prepares and completes work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding and cleaning metal. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: • Inspecting the entire work area to look for potential release of flammable sparks or vapors before, during, and at the end of each shift. • Patrolling areas where welding or other hot work is being performed and maintaining safety from potential fires. • Being familiar with the job site and procedures for sounding an alarm in the event of a fire and having a means of notifying the necessary management crew and emergency services. • Managing foot traffic from going into any welding area and when necessary, barricading the welding areas with cones and red danger tape. • Having fire-extinguishing equipment and other safety equipment readily available at all times and being well trained in the use of a fire extinguisher. • Cleaning around welding area from any debris prior to welding starting and cleaning the area from any welding trash after the welder has completed an assignment. • Participating in composite cleanup as needed by the General Contractor. • Assisting welders move tools and welding machinery from one area of the job site to another. • Moving material around the job site to assist welders set steel in place as requested. • Performing other duties as assigned by the Foreman and/or Superintendent. Requirements: Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Environmental awareness • Proven work experience as a Fire Watchman or similar role • Knowledge of fire and safety prevention methods where hot work is being carried out • Ability to work long hours depending on the needs of the job site • Relevant training and/or certifications as a Fire Watchman Travel Requirements: None. Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a TIG Welder - 2nd Shift ( $5,000 Relocation Pay Offered). JOB SUMMARY: The Welder works with the rest of the Construction Department on commercial projects, and is responsible for reviewing drawings, doing lay-out, and assembling pipes accurately and according to production standards, quality requirements, safety requirements, code, design, and specifications. As a full-time member of our field workforce, the Welder will travel to different job sites, going where work is needed in the greater Metropolitan Washington area. REQUIREMENTS • 3 of more years of commercial construction and welding experience. • Able to work Monday-Friday with occasional overtime during afternoons, evenings and weekends as needed. Hours may involve start times as early as 5:00 a.m. • Effective interpersonal skills, including ability to work with diverse sets of team members and resolve conflict professionally with the assistance of management. • Interface effectively, ethically and professionally with co-workers and clients and subcontractors. • Communicate effectively in English (aural, verbal, and written). • Able to sit, stand, bend, walk, climb, and remain in static positions for duration of shift.
