The overall responsibilities of a Welder - Erection include: • Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions. • Weld connection of precast/prestressed members • Able to perform daily maintenance on the welding machine. • Able to signal crane • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits • Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers and rulers. • Examine workplaces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common the the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and welding equipment. • Must be willing to travel and stay out of town through workweek, as well as work hours deemed necessary to keep job on schedule. • Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations. • Housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
