Aluminum Welder

We are looking for a skilled Aluminum Welder at our facility for the construction of float house hulls. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential. Aluminum Welding Experience Required. Required.Welding test is required. Welding hood, gloves and basic hand tools required. Responsibilities • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements) • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Skills • Proven experience as aluminum welder • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG etc.) • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) • Skillful performance and attention to detail • Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus Job Type: Full-time Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour Work Location: In person

Educational Qualification • Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED Work Experience • Must pass the Hendrickson weld test – 2G • Must achieve a minimum percentile score of 33 on the DAT test Duties/Responsibilities • Conduct required quality checks using basic measuring equipment. • Accurately report daily activities on work orders and KanBan cards and other media as required. • Feed and operate welding systems. Make running adjustments as needed. • Perform all duties associated with hand welding and weld repairs. • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment as scheduled. • Perform machine-to-machine material handling as necessary within the cell. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor.
