Requisition ID: 173543 Position Summary Perform work involving a high degree of precision and the use of hand welding equipment and proficiency in welding processes for both structural and process pipe applications Experience Level Intermediate Primary Responsibilities and Duties • Set-up, troubleshoot and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures • Preheat and weld metal components as specified by blue prints, welding symbols, job specifications, or welding procedures. • Weld various processes FCAW-S, FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW • Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine, and other industry machines, tools and equipment • Make welding repairs and substandard welds Qualifications • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. • Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position. • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision. • Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently. Requirements • The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl • Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required • May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds • Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment • May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site • Must have required tools • Must pass Weld Test • May require drivers license • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances before welding the work piece, establishing the sequence of operations and setting up requirements. • Measures, marks, and scribes' dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent welding • Calculates and sets controls to regulate welding factors such as rotation speed, travel speed, tip angle, preheat and post heat • Starts and observes welding operations to detect malfunctions and adjusts machine controls to the required adjustments • Collaborates with engineers, production staff, programmers, and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve welding or assembly issues. • Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment and tests operations of unit to ensure functionality and performance • Recommends plan of action based on their welding expertise as applicable • Operates overhead cranes to transport, set or move work assignments and other material handling equipment. • Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) High School is required. • Trade school training in welding is a plus. • Requires one to three years’ welding experience or combination of experience and education may be considered. • Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. • Must be able to interpret and understand blueprints, sketches, and written instructions. • Strong analytical skills are necessary including problem solving. • DOT certification may be required. • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. • Position requires standing, sitting, squatting, twisting or stooping for long periods. • Travel up to 20%.
