Position Swenson Spreader, LLC is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding metal parts, preparing products for welding, operating welding equipment, and interpreting blueprints to create high-quality welds. You will also ensure all safety procedures are followed and maintain equipment in good working order. Responsibilities • Read and build from blueprints to perform quality welds. • Operate welding machines (manual wire feed, automatic) and adjust welding parameters as needed. • Weld in multiple positions and perform inspections as required. • Safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools. • Utilize cranes and hoists for various tasks. • Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirements. Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required. • Prior MIG welding experience required; pulse MIG welding and fabrication experience preferred. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various body positions. • Proficient in blueprint reading and basic math. • Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication. Work Environment The role involves exposure to fumes, heat, mechanical parts, and other industrial conditions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided. MIG Welder Location: Rockford, IL Rate: $25-$35/hr Are you a skilled welder looking for an opportunity to grow your career in a supportive and dynamic environment? Full Benefits package available This position is responsible for fabricating & welding processes on heavy lifting equipment. • Performs basic fit up operation in preparation for welding. This position will pay based on a weld test between $22-$26/hr Responsibilities • Perform MIG welding on carbon and stainless steel materials, ranging from 14-gauge to 1/4”. • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and sketches with accuracy to ensure top-quality results. • Adjust welding equipment for optimal fusion and durability of metals. • Select the best materials and gauges for each project, ensuring strength and efficiency. • Utilize hand and power tools to refine and perfect each product. • Remove slag, burrs, and sharp edges with grinders or sanders for a smooth finish. • Inspect completed parts and label them with part numbers for easy identification. • Safely operate forklifts or overhead cranes to move materials and keep the workflow smooth.
