WELDER, FIRST SHIFT

Generally welds stock and standard products that may require the use of fixtures. • Performs MIG welding on products with low complexity of moving parts. Regularly welds plate thicknesses up to 1/4" • Meets welding time and quality standards, as established by the organization. • Uses overhead crane to position weldments. • Demonstrates the Caldwell Values in all work activities • Maintains a safe work environment. Reports defective tools and equipment. • Complies with all safety rules and regulations. Requirements • Minimum High School or equivalent education • Minimum 3 years welding experience Minimum 3 years fit-up experience • Demonstrated proficiency welding up to 3/8” • Experience with metal core spray transfer using O45 and O52 diameter wire preferred • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints • Demonstrated ability to perform layout work for drilling • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills • Ability to use hand plasma and air arc tools • Certified for overhead crane and forklift • Ability to earn a Caldwell MIG welding certificate Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, employee is continuously required to stand, frequently required to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, engage in repetitive use of hands; and occasionally must bend, reach overhead, crouch, kneel, push/pull, lift up to 50 pounds and talk and listen.

Mig Welder

Aerotek is hiring a MIG Welder! Job Description Join our skilled fabrication team as a MIG Welder, where you'll work on a wide variety of sheet metal and structural steel projects. From guards and chutes to covers and conveyors, your craftsmanship will help bring essential components to life. You'll be welding materials ranging from 14-gauge to 1/4” carbon and stainless steel. Responsibilities • Perform MIG welding on carbon and stainless steel components. • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and sketches accurately. • Adjust welding equipment to ensure proper fusion of metals. • Select appropriate materials and metal gauges for each project. • Use hand and power tools to finish and refine products. • Remove slag, burrs, and sharp edges using grinders or sanders. • Inspect completed parts and label them with part numbers. • Operate forklifts or overhead cranes to move materials safely. Essential Skills • Proficiency in MIG welding techniques. • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills. • Experience with both carbon steel and stainless steel welding. • Ability to regulate welding equipment for optimal results. • Skilled in using grinders, sanders, and other finishing tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working from engineering layouts and prototypes. • Familiarity with operating forklifts and overhead cranes. Description: • Mig weld on various metals: Mild Steel: ¼”, 7 gauge & 11 gauge; in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions, efficiently while producing an output that is thorough and exact • Operate power/hand tools, measuring devices, grinders and instruments in the weld process. • Ability to read, interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, tape measure and other written instructions or procedures. • Test products per the inspection procedure • Perform in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, while maintaining high quality and on-time delivery • Support all areas of the production area as required Requirements: • Requires lifting and carrying up to 50lbs. • At least 2 years’ experience as a Mig Welder • Ability to stand, kneel and squat for duration of shift • Must be willing to submit and pass pre-employment drug screening and background check • Starting pay depends on welding and work experience
