The Welder II is expected to perform more complex welding tasks, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in production processes. Job Details • Position Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt (Hourly) • Pay Range: $20.95 - $22.32 per hour • Work Location: Sterling, Illinois • Shift: 3 pm-11:30 pm Key Responsibilities • Lead the installation, setup, and calibration of complex machines and equipment, ensuring precise alignment with operational specifications for production. • Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to optimize machine performance for specialized production runs and implement necessary adjustments. • Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on critical equipment issues, resolve complex malfunctions, and adjust settings to ensure maximum efficiency. • Conduct in-depth tests and inspections to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact production, ensuring minimal disruption. • Implement corrective actions and lead preventive maintenance efforts to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and extend machinery lifespan. • Analyze and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequencing, ensuring optimal production workflows. • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in machine setups and operational efficiency. • Oversee the operation and maintenance of powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) to support machine setup, material transport, and seamless production processes. • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.). • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures. • Perform all other duties as assigned.
