Position Overview We are seeking a highly qualified Weld Inspector / Quality Control Technician to inspect welds via ID borescope and visual OD inspection in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME BPE standards. This role will involve maintaining shop isometrics, verifying that weld documentation is complete and correct, and ensuring compliance with all internal quality procedures and codes of construction for each project. Key Responsibilities: • Inspect welds using ID borescope and visual OD inspections per ASME B31.3 and ASME BPE standards. • Maintain accurate shop isometrics and verify that weld documentation meets project specifications. • Follow and enforce internal quality procedures to ensure all standards are met during shop fabrication. • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for each project in compliance with ASME BPE and ASME B31.3 standards. • Work closely with the shop team to ensure quality standards are upheld throughout the fabrication process. • Collaborate with field teams to ensure quality control is maintained throughout all phases of construction. Job Profile The company seeks a Welder/Welder Helper (Engineering) who must work towards qualifying to complete repairs and maintain all aspects of rail including frogs, rail-ends, turn-outs, switch points, and glue joints using arc, propane, or thermite welding processes. Employees must be able to meet and comply with the manufacturer’s weight limitation safety rating and recommendations for any equipment associated with performing their duties, including the 300 lbs. safety rating for ladders (both portable and affixed) and fall arrest equipment. Applicants will be considered for either a Welder or a Welder Helper position. Evaluation of job title will include relevant skills and experiences, interview results, and various other job-relevant evaluations.
