JOB SUMMARY Hand-weld components used to build Ring-O-Matic equipment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Read information from blueprints, technical manuals, or other documents. • Set up fixtures, mount parts in fixtures, and perform mechanical assembly. o Includes using hand and air tools such as wrenches, torque wrenches, impact wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc. • Move and position parts — sometimes with a hoist and sometimes manually. Parts typically weigh up to 25 pounds and can be as much as 50 pounds. • Use a hoist to lift and position large, heavier components and completed weldments. • Set up, adjust, and operate MIG welding equipment to weld machine components. • Remove components from fixtures, clean and check them for quality, and correct errors or deficiencies of weldments. • Through behavior and communication, maintain positive relationships with customers, clients, supervisors, and co-workers. • Meet or exceed typical expectations for productivity, quality, attendance, and safety. • Ability to work in a safe manner by always following safety guidelines. • Other duties as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT • Manufacturing plant conditions (indoors, no air conditioning, variable temperature, and humidity, noise, and dirt). • Relatively high temperatures. • Physical hazards such as powered vehicles, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, compressed air power supplies, and materials handling. • Working with hazardous materials, including solvents, oils, grease, paint, and fuels. • Workdays of up to 10 hours. Over time, as necessary. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • Have appropriate MIG welding experience (3 years) OR have completed a formal welding training program/certificate. • Ability to read and understand blueprints. • Skilled in reading tape measure JOB QUALIFICATIONS • Be able to handle items weighing over 50 pounds. This includes lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components. • Have appropriate mechanical skills, including experience using hand and air-powered tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.). • Have appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills. • Have a good work record, including indications of strong self-motivation, reliable attendance, attention to quality, ability to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personality. • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to assess, evaluate, and carry out appropriate action for a given situation.

In this role you will use welding skills to include fit-up, tacking and welding of cast, machined, forged and fabricated steel components to assemble industrial equipment. We’re looking for dedicated team members with a drive to build the best. What You’ll Do 1. Complete weldments in various welding positions according to blueprints and welding procedure specifications using GMAW-P by following Vermeer Welding Standards. 2. Position, align and fit components together utilizing fixturing. Bolt, clamp and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding according to blueprints and welding procedure specifications. 3. Set and operate an OFC oxyfuel torch for preheating safely and efficiently. 4. Perform regular and routine maintenance on welding equipment. 5. Support 5S/workplace organization goals of the department and offer suggestions and make improvements that achieve the department’s performance board metrics. What We’re Looking For - Ability to complete Vermeer Weld Training to achieve the required certifications, licenses or registrations of GMAW, 1G-L, 1G-UL, 3F and 4F. - Welding experience preferred. - Calculate figures and apply basic mathematical functions including fractions and decimals. - Ability to perform basic computer functions. - Ability to perform problem solving techniques and root cause analysis. - Ability to assess, evaluate, and carry out appropriate action in multiple situations. - Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
