Robotic Welder (3rd Shift)

Work Shift 3 - Third Shift Hourly Wage Range $28.76 - $30.52 Job Summary Are you the type of person who is a self-starter, likes to work independently, and strives to improve yourself and those around you? In this role, you will be responsible for laying out, fitting-up, and loading steel components into a fixture, tacking, and welding steel components. We’re looking for someone who can assemble weldments according to blueprints and specifications both manually and with a robot and has the drive to build the best. What You’ll Do 1.Complete weldments following Vermeer Welding Standards, using GMAW-P and adhering to blueprints and welding procedure specifications. 2. Position, align, and fit components with fixturing, securing them for welding robot assembly. 3. Manually finish weld parts to achieve the final product. 4. Inspect final welds to ensure they meet Vermeer’s quality standards. 5. Operate an Oxy Fuel Cutting torch for preheating safely and efficiently. 6. Perform preventive maintenance on welding equipment. What We’re Looking For - Minimum of 3 years related weld experience and/or 1 year of welding at Vermeer. - Successful completion of Vermeer Welder Training Program. - Cross-trained in a minimum of 3 areas. - Calculate figures and apply concepts of fractions, percentages, and ratios. - Ability to communicate effectively with team leaders and managers. - Ability to perform basic computer functions. - Ability to effectively problem solve and troubleshoot machine and weld quality issues. - Reading and understanding measuring devices such as tape measure and weld fillet gauges. - Ability to perform problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis. - Ability to assess, evaluate, and carry out appropriate action in multiple situations. Travel - No travel is expected of this position. Welder

Hand-weld components used to build Ring-O-Matic equipment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Read information from blueprints, technical manuals, or other documents. • Set up fixtures, mount parts in fixtures, and perform mechanical assembly. o Includes using hand and air tools such as wrenches, torque wrenches, impact wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc. • Move and position parts — sometimes with a hoist and sometimes manually. Parts typically weigh up to 25 pounds and can be as much as 50 pounds. • Use a hoist to lift and position large, heavier components and completed weldments. • Set up, adjust, and operate MIG welding equipment to weld machine components. • Remove components from fixtures, clean and check them for quality, and correct errors or deficiencies of weldments. • Through behavior and communication, maintain positive relationships with customers, clients, supervisors, and co-workers. • Meet or exceed typical expectations for productivity, quality, attendance, and safety. • Ability to work in a safe manner by always following safety guidelines. • Other duties as assigned.

Complete weldments in various positions according to blueprints and welding procedure specifications, following Vermeer Welding Standards and supporting our commitment to innovation and excellence. 2. Prepare, position, and align components using fixtures; bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure them for final welding, demonstrating our culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. 3. Safely and efficiently operate an oxyfuel cutting (OFC) torch for preheating and perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. 4. Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions; apply decimal-based measurements to ensure precision and quality. 5. Access digital drawings and work instructions via computer systems to support accurate weld execution. 6. Identify welding defects, assist in root cause analysis, and support corrective actions to maintain product quality and exceed customer expectations. 7. Support 5S and workplace organization goals by maintaining a clean and efficient work area, contributing to continuous improvement and department performance metrics. What We’re Looking For - Entry-level welding experience or formal training (technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent) preferred. - Ability to successfully complete Vermeer’s Weld Training Program, including American Welding Society (AWS) Gas Metal Arc Welding – Pulsed (GMAW-P) certification to the D14.0 standard with qualification in the flat (1G-UL) position, and willingness to learn and qualify in Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) for vertical fillet (3F) and overhead fillet (4F) positions. - Ability to read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and apply decimal-based measurements for precision and quality. - Ability to access and interpret digital work instructions and drawings using computer systems. - Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify welding defects, participating in root cause analysis, and recommending corrective actions. - Ability to adapt, assess situations quickly, and carry out appropriate actions to maintain safety, quality, and productivity. - Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
