Reporting to the Weld Manager, the Skilled Welder performs welding in a production environment that requires a top-quality candidate who is self-motivated with high energy and a team spirit attitude. Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities: • Exhibit LDJ’s core values and culture in all aspects of the job. • Production welding on a variety of steel parts or products. • Ability to perform a variety of welds in various positions. • Willingness to learn and grow in welding ability. • Other duties as management delegates. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: • Excellent work ethic with minimum supervision and highly organized. • Good written and verbal communication skills that convey information effectively with a positive attitude. • Ability to work well with others in fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Strong attention to detail. • Ability to work on feet for a 10-hour shift. • Ability to lift 50 lbs. without restriction. • Ability to read blueprints with minimal assistance. • Positive attitude that will be a good cultural fit is required. Education and Experience: • Minimum 2 years welding experience in a production environment. Job Title: Welding Specialist Division: Precision Pulley & Idler (PPI) FLSA: Hourly - Non-Exempt Grade: 2 Job Status: Full Time Travel Required: 0-5% Revision Date: March 4, 2021 Reports To: Production Supervisor PURPOSE OF POSITION Responsible for welding and processing parts by performing duties and responsibilities listed below ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. More specifically, the person will: • Weld parts together using single or multi-pass welds. • Utilize the correct weld gauge for the correct size weld. • Use and Understand various paperwork, including schedules, prints, & tech standards. • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement by practicing good housekeeping and organization in their work area • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results within budget, time, and quality specifications. • As business needs arise, complete assignments in other areas and related task assignments in work areas • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, policies, and regulations. • Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping. • Continually participate in additional training related to the job. • Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area. • Continually participate in additional training related to the position. • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance. Set and operate an OFC oxyfuel torch for preheating safely and efficiently.4. Perform regular and routine maintenance on welding equipment.5.
