Job Summary: The Welder I will be responsible for safely employing a welding process with certain parameters while achieving high-quality welds. Understanding blueprints, calculating dimensions, monitoring heat used in welding, and knowing the basic controls of welding equipment are important duties of this position. The Welder I will work closely with the production team to meet production goals and ensure all welding tasks are completed according to specifications. Other duties may be assigned, and key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Welding Operations: • Safely perform GMAW and/or GTAW of Steel. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements. • Understand weld symbols per AWS A2.4. • Perform machine-to-machine material handling. • Ensure that welds comply with customer requirements. • Safely meet established labor efficiency and production goals such as throughput and quality of work. Quality Assurance: • Have a basic understanding of weld defects and causes. • Have basic understanding of weld inspection and assess completed welds for defects and rework as needed. • Conduct in-process inspections using tools like calipers, weld inspection tools, and visual checks to ensure quality standards. • Adhere to internal and government quality standards to ensure that all products meet required specifications. Adherence to Procedures: • Follow all job instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and any specific requirements related to the welding process. • Accurately complete forms and documentation such as production travelers (MOT's). • Ensure that all welding tasks are completed according to established guidelines and meet company and government regulatory standards. • Comply with all environmental and safety regulations. Equipment Maintenance and Safety: • Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working order, performing basic maintenance as needed. • Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). • Follow safe work practices and ensure a clean and organized workspace. Documentation and Reporting: • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for work completed, including time tracking and material usage. • Report any safety hazards, production delays, or material shortages to the supervisor promptly. Continuous Improvement: • Actively participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives. • Suggest improvements to increase welding efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. • Support Lean 5S initiatives to achieve a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity. ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY Job Title: Adjunct Faculty, Lecturer in Welding Technology ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Part-time faculty are needed to teach courses in Welding Technology. Qualified individuals will have expert knowledge in one or more of the following processes: stick welding (SMAW), TIG welding (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), flux cored arc welding (FCAW), oxy-fuel welding (OAW), OAC, plasma arc cutting (PAC), carbon arc cutting (CAC) on plate and SMAW pipe welding. Duties include teaching, assessments, lab/classroom maintenance. Preference given to those with related industry credentials. All classes will be taught in-person. Minimum Qualifications Required: • A minimum of 4000 hours (approximately 2 years' full time) related professional work experience within the past 7 years Preferred Qualifications: • Career and Technical Education credential Salary: 600.00 - 850.00 per credit hour.
