FITTER WELDER - 2nd Shift Pay Rate: $22.51 * Anything after 8hrs, in a single day, OT is paid! * Schedule: • 2nd Shift Schedule; 3:30 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. • five 10-hour shifts (Anything after 8hrs, in a single day, OT is paid!) • two 8-hour shifts on Saturdays per month Summary of Position: Under the direction of the Department Production Supervisor and in cooperation with the Team Lead, safely erect and fit together appropriate equipment and materials for the building of asphalt plants and related components. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist in the building of asphalt plant equipment and related components by safely and efficiently fitting and welding metal parts in a quality-conscious manner. • Must be able to demonstrate ability to MIG weld, TIG weld, & stick weld (properly and safely). • Inspect metal prior to welding for smoothness & acceptability; clean welds to presentable state (grinding operations). • Ensure welding machine settings are appropriate for work to be performed. • Trained and knowledgeable in PPE requirements for welding, including hood, filter shades, & arm/body protection. • Always perform work to the utmost of one self’s ability. Continuously strive to improve one self’s work-related skills, efficiency, and the quality of output.
