Welder/Fabricator

We are looking for a skilled welder/fabricator to cut and join metals and other materials at our facilities or construction sites. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. A welder/fabricator must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential. Responsibilities • Pipe fitting and pipe welding is a strongly desired • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements) • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Requirements • Proven experience as welder/fabricator • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (Mig,Tig,Stick,torch) • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) • Attention to detail • Proficient in English • Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus Job Type: Full-time Salary: $14.00 - $25.00 per hour Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week Benefits: • 401(k) matching • Health insurance • Paid time off Shift: • 10 hour shift • 12 hour shift • 8 hour shift Experience: • pipe welding: 2 years (Required) • Industrial maintenance: 2 years (Preferred) Ability to Commute: • Dalton, GA 30720 (Required) Work Location: In person

Welder/Fabricator Currently looking for skilled Welder/Fabricators to fill positions with a manufacturer in the Dalton GA area. Interested candidates must have experience in MIG or Stick or Flux Core Responsibilities of the Welder/ Fabricator • Weld heavy or light gauge steel components. • Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions. • Work includes set-up, laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products. • Work with fitters or fitters/welders to assist in the fabrication or welding of multi-component parts. • Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch and other hand tools related to the jobs needs. Requirements of the Welder/Fabricator • Experience in MIG or Stick or Flux Core welding from a past job or from schooling • Minimum 1 year of welding experience • Familiar with a variety of welder concepts, practices, and procedures. • Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts a plus. • Must be thoroughly familiar with welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, filler rods, flux, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders • Pass a hands on weld test The starting salary for these positions range from $15.00-$23.00 hourly, depending on position, shift and experience.
