This is a great opportunity for recent graduates from welding technical programs! Also, a great opportunity for career advancement in the welding field! Welders must be able to pass a 1G weld test with flux core. As a Welder, you’ll use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders. You’ll then use manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. This role requires knowledge of Flux Core and Carbon Arcing Weld processes as well as the ability to perform flat groove welds and horizontal flat fillet welds. Welds are subject to Ultrasonic inspection. Previous experience with passing UT inspection is a plus! • Weld clips and hardware • Perform full penetration (such as slip joint) welds to weld ends to poles or channels • Perform basic repairs • Operate grinding equipment • May layout and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies • May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools in accordance with layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches. • May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications • Observe all standard safety practices • Maintain and complete all required records • Follow all safety rules and practices • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives • Perform other duties as assigned • Minimum of 1 year of experience in structural welding • Qualify as a flat welder • Flux Core experience required • Ability to maintain 92% pass rate on UT inspection • Basic understanding of Oxy-Fuel/Plasma burning • Basic understanding of Carbon Arcing • Ability to maintain good attendance • Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed • Must be able to pass 1G weld test with flux core Salary and benefits will be discussed at the time of the interview. Qualifications: • Welding/Fitting: 2 years (Required). Job Description: • Forms metal parts according to work order and drawing requirements, and determines forming specifications. • Assures proper materials accompany work order and run production parts according to print specifications. • Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler. • Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment. • Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. • Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques. • Maintain high standards of quality by making sure that parts passed on to a subsequent work center are good. • Work and be familiar with measuring tools (calipers, protractors, square, and radius gages, and etc.). • Be able to work independently. Requirements: • High School diploma/GED required. • Possesses strong attention to detail for accurate and repeatable measurements, recording data, and interpreting blueprints. • Understanding of metal types and forming characteristics. • Has excellent communication and organizational skills.
