Media Blaster/Powder Coater

Job Title: Media Blaster & Powder Coater Department: Powder Coating Location: Bozeman, Montana Job Summary The Media Blaster & Powder Coater is responsible for preparing and finishing metal parts and assemblies through abrasive blasting and powder coating processes. This role ensures surfaces are properly cleaned, prepped, coated, and cured to meet quality and durability standards. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, understands surface preparation and coating techniques, and maintains a safe and efficient work environment. Key Duties & Responsibilities Surface Preparation & Media Blasting • Operate abrasive blasting equipment (blast pots, nozzles, booths) to remove rust, scale, paint, and contaminants. • Mask or protect areas not to be blasted or coated. • Inspect parts before and after blasting to ensure a consistent surface profile. • Maintain blasting equipment and monitor media condition and inventory. Powder Coating Application • Prepare surfaces for coating through cleaning, degreasing, or pretreatment. • Hang, rack, or fixture parts for coating. • Operate powder coating guns and booths, applying coatings evenly and to specification. • Adjust electrostatic and air settings for consistent coverage and finish. • Transfer coated parts to ovens, monitor curing times and temperatures. • Inspect finished parts for quality, coverage, adhesion, and curing. • Perform rework or touch-ups as needed. Maintenance, Quality, and Safety • Clean and maintain all blasting, coating, and curing equipment. • Keep work areas organized, clean, and compliant with safety and environmental regulations. • Follow PPE and ventilation requirements for blasting and powder application. • Document work performed, materials used, and inspection results. • Support continuous improvement in coating processes and efficiency. Qualifications & Skills • High school diploma or equivalent required. • 1+ year experience in abrasive blasting, powder coating, or related industrial finishing preferred. • Understanding of surface preparation standards and powder coating techniques. • Mechanical aptitude for maintaining equipment and troubleshooting issues. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality finishes. • Ability to read work orders, part drawings, and process instructions. • Physically capable of standing, lifting, bending, and working in hot, dusty environments. • Excellent safety awareness and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Work Environment & Conditions • Industrial shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, and powders. • Use of respirators, blast suits, gloves, and protective eyewear required. • May require overtime, weekend work, or variable shifts. Counter Sales Representative- American Welding & Gas (8441)

American Welding & Gas, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Counter Sales Representative in our Bozeman, MT location. This position has the primary responsibility of assisting customers with purchasing and ordering products focusing on gases and welding/industrial supplies. Duties will also include maintaining hardgoods, receiving and inventory control. Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred or the ability to obtain both. Responsibilities: • Assist customers in store and by phone to purchase and order products. • Handle cylinder returns, exchanges and purchases. • Handle cash and charge account transactions. Reconcile cash, credit card, and charge transactions and end of day cash drawers. • Branch collection activities and customer retention calls. • Assist manager with opening and closing store each day including securing all cylinders, locking all areas and setting alarms. • Monitor inventory levels. Check in and put away inventory. • Receive freight and create bar code labels with part numbers. • Schedule deliveries and service calls. • Support outside sales team. • Follow and comply with all company safety policies. • Work with store manager to achieve/surpass budgeted sales projections while maintaining expenses within the parameters allocated by management to achieve profitability. • Assist manager with building and equipment maintenance. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED. • Clean driving record. • Work experience in customer service or sales preferred. • Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.) • Cash register experience preferred. • Ability to operate a forklift preferred. • Strong computer skills. • Motivated, high energy individual that is willing to learn our products and grow with the company.
