We exist to create value and help people succeed. Summary: We are currently seeking a reliable, hard-working, experienced welder. In this role, you will be ensuring our production needs are met in a timely fashion while observing the highest standards of safety and quality. You will need to be reliable and punctual, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You must be able to perform physical tasks that are repetitive. Key Objectives & Responsibilities: • Use MIG welding techniques to join metal. • Join prefabricated pieces using proper welding techniques to meet job specifications. • Fabricate and adjust pieces as necessary. • Understanding of basic metallurgy to allow for proper prep and finish of welded metals. • Ability to read and understand a variety of blue prints. • Use measurement and math skill to ensure quality of precision of projects. • Use forklifts and other lifting/moving devices to maneuver projects. • Use grinder to properly finish materials. • Other tasks as assigned/required. Key Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience preferred. • Must be able to work in shop floor environment, able to sit, stand, balance, stoop, kneel, walk, and use tools and controls. • Frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds. • Has Basic experience of welding, using grinders and welding tools, including tape measure. • Weld some parts without a fixture. Our company specializes in precision machine and welded components. We are expanding and looking for highly motivated, highly skilled team players that work well in a fast-paced environment and enjoy rewarding projects. Scope of Work • Use all welding processes & equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies as required, meeting defined production schedules. • Supply quality parts & assemblies with and without the use of jigs & fixtures. • Support the Quality Assurance department with respect to checking other’s dimensional work, for proper fit up & assembly. • Always perform work with Safety being the first priority. • Perform quality related functions within the shop, must be able to read blue prints. • Responsible for quality, dimensional and visual weld inspections with steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. • Responsible for all quality paper work that pertains to weld shop. Major Responsibilities • Build welded assemblies for new products and changes to existing products per customer drawings, documents, & specifications using established production standards. • Operate all necessary equipment and perform tasks to complete jobs to customer specification. • Prepare and setup necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs. • Arrange parts for welding and staging processes as to ensure dimensional accuracy, material grade, & quantity per BOM’s. • Propose potential quality and/or productivity enhancements (i.e. continuous improvement). • Review of fit-up and finished parts/assemblies to ensure quality and accuracy against drawings & specifications. • Report fabrication issues and assist in finding resolutions as required. • Report ALL Safety issues and help to ensure that others are working safely. • Perform other duties as requested by the department manager. Skill Required • Minimum 3 years of experience welding/fitting. • Able to read blue prints, shop plans, & assembly drawings. • Able to work standing while holding a 2 lbs. (average) work instrument. • Ability to bent/kneel hands at floor and eye levels. • Able to lift 75+ lbs. unilaterally and bilaterally for a distance of up to 20 feet. • Able to pull and push up to 100 lbs. using equipment for a distance of up to 20 feet. • Ability to go up and downstairs (20+ steps). • Comply with OSHA regulations and standard shop safety practices in all areas. • Strong attention to detail, must be able to properly use welding equipment and understand blueprints, must constantly search for ways to improve safety, productivity, quality, cleanliness, and organization.
