Company Background & Job Summary: Headframe Spirits Manufacturing (HSM) is a business unit of Headframe Spirits engaged in the design and manufacturing of standard and custom design continuous flow ethanol distillation systems. In addition to distillation equipment manufacturing, Co-Packaging operations are also carried out within the HSM facilities. As a design firm, much of what this position is responsible for is not just fabrication on existing designs but work supporting the development and fine tuning on newly designed products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities and Expectations: Fabrication 85% of time Description of Duty/Task: Fabrication Fabrication of system components in accordance with engineering direction/documentation/drawings, using industry standard, safe manufacturing practices. Tig welding of stainless and carbon steel system components. Completion of sub-assemblies and final system assemblies as assigned. Integration of instruments and electrical control systems as assigned. Under engineering direction, conduct system integrity and operational testing. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures of production machines/equipment in a timely manner. Construct packaging including pallets, boxes, crates. Disassemble and prepare for shipment any manufactured equipment or components Operation of manlifts, forklifts and other rigging equipment in support of equipment fabrication Participate in regular meetings to support: • Current project design review. • Current project status updates. • Provide input on areas for improvement. • Advise on new design work. • Redlining of current working drawings. • Regular suggestions of equipment and process efficiency opportunities. Safety, Cleanliness & Organization • Maintain a safe, uncluttered work environment and utilize/incorporate lean manufacturing practices/principles where applicable. • Conduct work in a manner which supports a focus on safe operational practices. • Advise co-workers on best practice. • Maintain knowledge of, and apply at all times, safe work place practices including but not limited to confined space entries, energized equipment and Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures. • Support maintenance and repair of all HSM equipment and facilities and perform routine and preventative maintenance (PM’s) as directed. Travel 5% of time Description of Duty/Task: • Potential for distillation equipment install and repair onsite at client locations. Education 5% of time Description of Duty/Task: • Maintenance of certifications, as required. • Safety training. • Other miscellaneous education to support the needs of the department and/or to deepen or broaden skills to improve individual or departmental excellence. • Education may take any number of forms including but not limited to: Googling “how to…”, online or onsite training, locally provided training or multi-day offsite trainings. Supporting Other Departments 5% of time Description of Duty/Task: • Headframe is made up of several business units which each generate revenue in their own manner. It is incumbent on each employee to be ready to assist in other areas as needed to support the overall success of the company. Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education): In addition to the specific skills listed, this position requires a highly disciplined problem solver with a strong work ethic that can function effectively in both a team environment and on their own. Competencies or Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA’s): It should be noted that the functions and responsibilities listed here are not all inclusive of what may be expected from the individual holding a Manufacturing Technician position.
