Responsibilities • Setup and weld skids of various sizes and metal alloys that will contain water treatment equipment. • Setup and weld stainless steel pipe of various sizes and schedules using TIG and purging techniques. • Set up and operate computer numerical control (CNC) plasma table to cut steel panels for skids. • Weld special injection fittings and floor stands. • Use plasma cutter, power saw, band, grinder, and brake press to cut and shape metal to engineering specifications. • Manually lift raw materials and final systems packed for shipment up to 40 pounds or use a forklift and hoist for heavier loads. • Assemble pretreatment and chemical feed systems according to drawings and instructions provided by the Engineering Department. • Interconnect pretreatment and chemical feed systems using SCH 80 PVC pipe and threaded galvanized and stainless steel pipes. • Connect electrical control systems using basic wiring techniques. • Program microprocessor-based pretreatment and chemical feed equipment. • Breakdown assembled equipment and package for shipment. • Work closely with Manufacturing Technicians to maximize productivity and efficiency. • Keep work areas clean and follow company safety policies Technical Qualifications • Ideal candidate will have a welding certificate from a technical school and three years of welding experience. • Must be able to weld using Stick, MIG, and TIG • Must be able to purge weld stainless steel pipe using TIG. • Must have ability to fit PVC and steel pipe. • Must have proficient use of power and hand tools. • Must have ability to read a tape measure, use calipers, and carry out mathematical calculations using fractions and decimals to determine exact dimensions. • Must have ability to read and fabricate assemblies from working drawings. • Must have ability to operate forklift. • Must have ability to produce quality products consistently • Must have ability to perform simple shop math (convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals) Physical Requirements • Must have physical strength and ability to lift up to 40 pounds and carry such a weight for 100 feet. • Must have good visual ability for close-up observations and use of analytical and control equipment • Must have good depth perception and ability to distinguish different colors. • Must have hearing sufficient to hear verbal and audible signals at a moderate distance. • Must be conditioned to sustain work in a manufacturing environment that ranges in temperature from 55oF – 100oF. Other Requirements • Must have a valid Driver’s License. • Must have reading ability sufficient to read technical manuals, mechanical and electrical drawings, codes, and other technical materials. • Must have writing ability sufficient to write correspondence and instructions. • Must have good communication skills to deal with the public and to work cooperatively with sales force and other company employees. • The statements outlined in this job description reflect the principal functions of the job, level of knowledge, skill required and the scope of responsibility. Who You Are: • Must have Pipe Welder experience. • Minimum of four years recent experience working as a Field Service Mechanic. • Must be able to read blueprints. • Must pass a background check and drug screen. • Must have clean MVR with a valid GA driver’s license. • Excellent troubleshooting skills and good time-management skills. • Technical School is a plus, but not required. • Exposure to prolonged periods of sitting and standing. • May be required to handle items that weigh in excess of 50 pounds.
