Position: Conductor / Welder RGPC Industrial Rail Services is seeking an individual with a keen interest in pursuing a railroad career, particularly in roles such as Conductor, Engineer, and Mechanical Carman. This position is ideal for candidates who possess basic welding skills, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to learn quickly. Responsibilities: • Perform switching, make-up and break-up of trains, and road haul of trains. • Oversee the maintenance and repair of rail cars, tank cars, freight equipment, and locomotives. • Perform fabrication tasks, including welding new parts and components, and installing upgrades on rail cars and locomotives. • Engage in track and rail yard maintenance tasks. • Maintain accurate records of cars handled, repairs performed, and track conditions encountered. • Responsible for accurate switch list paperwork, interchange records, and other assigned documentation. • Communication with management, customer service, and connecting railroads. Qualifications: • Basic skills in stick welding required. • Certified Locomotive Engineers are preferred. Must be willing to become a certified engineer as a condition of employment. • Valid driver’s license required. • Must be able to successfully pass operating rules examination. • Must be able to distinguish color signals aspects. • Self-motivated and able to work well in a team. • Prioritizes safety in all job functions. Who You Are: • Must have Pipe Welder experience. • Minimum of four years recent experience working as a Field Service Mechanic. • Must be able to read blueprints. • Must pass a background check and drug screen. • Must have clean MVR with a valid GA driver’s license. • Excellent troubleshooting skills and good time-management skills. • Technical School is a plus, but not required. • Exposure to prolonged periods of sitting and standing. • May be required to handle items that weigh in excess of 50 pounds.
