Welder

Must have welding experience. Selected candidates will be required to complete a welding test as a part of the interview process. You must pass the welding test to be considered for the position. Pay ranges between $18.00-23.00. We are looking for a skilled welder to join exhaust components at our facility. You will operate appropriate equipment/tools to assemble the components with great precision. Your job is important, as the components that you build are designed to complete a high-quality, leak free exhaust system. Candidates must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. Ideal candidates will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential. Your compensation and department placed (e.g. OEM, AEM, ONEBOX) is based upon the Welder Qualification Test type and results taken prior to employment. Responsibilities • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements using calipers and/or tape measure to ensure proper assembly of components. • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or process to use based on requirements (e.g. interpret weld symbols) • Align components using fixtures and clamps to be welded. • Weld thin stainless and some carbon steel using GMAW or GTAW in flat, horizontal, overhead, and/or while being rotated. • Inspect components prior to assembly and after for defects, then send to next operation. • Make necessary repairs on welds or components using angle grinder or appropriate tool. • Perform routine PM measures on welding equipment, and report findings to appropriate personnel. • Clock in and out of jobs as required by department lead. Requirements • Proven experience as welder by successful completion of DINEX Welder Qualification Test in accordance with AWS Standards • Experience using GMAW and/or GTAW equipment. • Ability to read technical documents, drawings, weld symbols, and attention to detail. • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.) • Proof of successful completion of relevant training at accredited facility is a plus.
