Clyde Industries is actively hiring for a MIG/TIG Welder. We are seeking an experienced MIG/TIG Welder who has experience operating automatic welders. The candidate must be able to read and understand drawings and weld symbols. Candidate should have experience welding various diameters of pipe materials to include stainless steel. We are looking to hire someone with a service driven attitude that has the desire to learn, grow, and lead by example. This is currently a 2nd shift opening (1:30pm-10:00pm Monday thru Friday. Training will take place for an estimated 1 month with some hours potentially being on day shift from 7:00am-3:30pm Monday thru Friday. Once candidate is fully trained (at the discretion of the trainer) he or she will work on 2nd shift. At times there may be mandatory overtime required to meet production needs. This is a non-exempt position and our targeted hourly rate for the role is $18/hour to $24/hour and offers will be determined based on candidate’s experience. Summary of Responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks): Follow welding procedures and maintain different qualifications for various types of weld joints. Use materials and fillers required for tube welds including dissimilar materials. All tube welders shall be qualified in accordance with ASME Section IX Products are installed in boilers which require special welding criteria to be accepted. Fits and welds assemblies using jigs and fixtures Follow all safe work practices and policies Verifies quality of work and signs off on quality checklists where required Qualifications 2 years welding technical school or equivalent 3 - 5 years of experience as a TIG welder in a manufacturing environment. Must be skilled in all facets of TIG, MIG, and stick welding Proficient at TIG welding including pipe welding Knowledge and ability to heat, form and straighten metal parts to restore alignment from distortion Ability to use precision measuring equipment to inspect dimensions and angles including calipers, micrometers, protractor, and other precision measuring devices Ability to identify any faults in operating equipment or in relation to materials Ability to control the fitting and welding process to avoid problems in relation to excessive distortion, expansion, or shrinkage of welded parts Ability to produce 100% penetration welds that are radio graph acceptable Ability to set up and operate semi-auto welding equipment Ability to fit up pipe/tube sections, flanges and nozzles and nozzle fabrications with accuracy Ability to select and set up welding equipment Ability to ensure welds meet standards and specifications Proficient at MIG welding Ability to use cutting equipment effectively and efficiently Ability to read and understand engineering drawings including weld symbols Proficient at grinding, filing, sanding, and deburring completed parts Math skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units or measurement including fractions and decimals General Able to work shift hours as mentioned above and overtime as required. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 30 lbs Environmental Working Conditions: Work for this role is performed inside and outside in an industrial environment and is a very hot environment working around flame and gases. Support Fabrication Manager to ensure delivery schedules are met while controlling labor costs. Assist Fabrication Manager in monitoring production output on a daily basis to make sure production standards (output per person) are met. Contribute to maintenance of production equipment. Position performs repetitive or routine duties while operating required equipment to move, weld, and apply certification stamp to pipe. Position requires knowledge of all welding processes and standards set by the company. This position can recommend personnel actions, with oversight and approval from the Fabrication Manager, and oversees most day-to-day operations. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assure that the highest standards are maintained for safety, housekeeping, and compliance with all company and government standards, policies, procedures, and practices. • Handle additional tasks necessary within the welding function to fulfill the needs of the company and the customer as deemed by the Fabrication Manager or Branch Operations Manager. • Ensure all machines and equipment are used properly and safely. • Report all safety, product, machine maintenance, and manpower issues and needs to Fabrication Manager in a timely manner. Monitor daily machine maintenance and perform basic equipment set-up functions. • Set an example for others with personal work ethics, positive attitude, and good attendance. • Follow Fabrication Manager's lead to orient and train new employees. • Encourage all employees to attain maximum productivity through leadership and observation. • Work with Fabrication Manager to assign and coordinate employees' daily work assignments and hours, including assessing additional work time as needed to ensure daily completion of scheduled work. • Monitor schedule, breaks, and lunches of personnel so as to minimize down time. • Monitor production schedule and alert Fabrication Manager of potential problems or bottlenecks. • Perform quality control operations, and report results of quality audits to Fabrication Manager. • Work with Fabrication Manager to anticipate workload requirements and stage product and resources accordingly. Report all material needs, discrepancies, or changes to purchasing/inventory control (warehouse attendant), and/or Fabrication Manager in a timely manner. • Work with Fabrication Manager to plan and achieve production goals. • Perform a variety of tasks as required by production needs, including operating powered and manual material handling equipment, loading and unloading pipe, and operating powered and/or manual banding equipment as needed to ready pipe bundles for shipment. • Lead continuous improvement projects as assigned by manager. REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum of 2 years leading personnel in a production multitask environment while under time constraints. • Previous welding experience with the ability to become certified. • Basic arithmetic skills required using whole numbers and decimals with the ability to read a tape measure in " increments. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
