Job Title: MIG Welder Department: Production/Manufacturing Reports To: Welding Supervisor Job Summary: TRC Talent Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MIG Welder to join our team. The Welder will be responsible for fusing metal parts together using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) techniques and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of MIG welding processes, safety protocols, and blueprint interpretation. The Welder will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of products/structures. Responsibilities and Duties: • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding process specifications. • Select appropriate welding equipment and materials based on project requirements. • Prepare metal surfaces for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and cutting. • Weld metal components using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) processes. • Position and clamp workpieces using fixtures, jigs, and clamps. • Maintain a clean and organized work area. • Inspect and test welds for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards. • Operate welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently. • Monitor and adjust welding parameters to achieve desired results. • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment. • Collaborate with other team members, such as fitters, fabricators, and supervisors. • Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills: • Proven experience as a MIG Welder (X years preferred - specify number). • Proficiency in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols. • Strong understanding of metal properties and welding techniques. • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to welding. • Ability to use hand tools and power tools. • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity. • Excellent attention to detail and quality. • Strong problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Good communication skills. Education and Certifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Completion of a certified welding program or apprenticeship is preferred. • Welding certifications (e.g., AWS) are highly desirable. Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift and/or move heavy objects. • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods. • Ability to work in various positions, including bending, stooping, and crouching. • Ability to work in potentially noisy and hot environments. • Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Working Conditions: • Work may be performed in indoor or outdoor settings. • Exposure to welding fumes, heat, and loud noise. • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as welding helmets, gloves, and safety glasses. • May be required to work overtime or weekends as needed.
