Welder: Location: Aurora, CO 80011 Hours: M-F, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Pay: $18-22/hr., Depending on Experience Experience: Minimum 1 year of Welding experience. The primary function of this position is welding and other production activities within the facility. The Welder ensures that the product meets quality standards and that production efficiency matrix are met. The welder also performs these duties in a safe manner to meet safety standards. Welder Responsibilities: • Set up and operate welding machines based on shop floor jobs and welding specifications. • Read and interpret drawing and prints to determine the specific welding requirements. • Weld in at least one of the following materials: aluminum, stainless steel using TIG equipment and processes. • Perform quality checks and in-process monitoring. • Calculate and use charts to convert decimals to fractions as well as the ability to use calipers, tape measures and angle gauges. • Set up weld station for production runs. • Perform additional duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisor of this position. Welder Requirements: • Knowledge of production processes, quality control and other production techniques. • Excellent Oral and written communication, ability to effectively present ideas and issues to production management. • Must be able to work in a culture of continuous improvement, where accountability for the work done is expected. • Read measurements to 1/32”. • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time. • Detail oriented and ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. Shop Welder-3: Includes all Shop Welder-2 qualifications plus: • Senior-level welder responsible for complex welding projects, structural fittings, and team leadership. • 5+ years of welding, metal processing and structural fitting. • Expert welding, inspecting advanced complexity tickets (including light and heavy structural metals) meeting quality standards. • Reads and interprets advanced blueprints and manages job requirements independently. • Performs and troubleshoots welding equipment maintenance. • Mentors Shop Welder-1’s &2’s. • Applies advanced math including trigonometry and geometry. • Leads, mentors, and develops a team of up to seven (7) welders. • Manage performance metrics (safety, quality, delivery and productivity) and recommend process improvement to enhance performance. • Regularly communicates order status and production updates to leadership. • Demonstrates deep understanding of welding codes, standards, and quality assurance. • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proven ability to collaborate with engineering and production teams to effectively resolve complex welding-related challenges. • Actively supports lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
