We are looking for a skilled Welder to cut and join metals and other materials at our manufacturing location in Aberdeen, SD. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with great precision. Your job is crucial as it provides the foundation for a strong infrastructure. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metals and their properties is essential. Preferred skills & requirements include, but are not limited to: • Ability to weld FCAW or GMAW • Have basic tools for welding (leathers, helmet, steel toe shoes, etc.) • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (uphill/downhill vertical, horizontal, overhead, and open root) • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements) • Familiarity with CAD software • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures • Familiarity with building large steel structures • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded • Align components using calipers, rulers, clamp pieces, etc. • Safely lift and carry weights in excess of 50 pounds and are physically able to climb onto/under equipment • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, etc.) • Must be able to distinguish color clearly to perform their duties • Problem-solving and interpersonal skills • Ability to operate a forklift • Proficient in English Pay is based upon experience. Welder (Days/Nights/Weekends) - Entry level pay starting at $21.00/hr + Night/Weekend Shift Differential
