Objective of Position: Assist in assembling and welding of trailers as directed. Principal Responsibilities: • Perform flat and horizontal welds within acceptable limits set by TK standard. • Read and understand blueprints for specified trailer. • Assist Lead Welder in assigned stall to effectively and efficiently produce trailers. • Perform minimal assembly procedures successfully. • Operates over-head and jib cranes safely and efficiently. • Maintain acceptable attendance per Company guidelines. • Follows all safety procedures and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems Position Profile POSITION: Hand Welder GRADE: Hourly LOCATION: Mitchell REPORTS TO: Team Leader/Supervisor DIRECT REPORTS: None PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: • Loads and operates fixture as required. Pieces weigh up to 20lbs. Make running adjustments as needed. • Weld and turn beam in fixture. Beams weight up to 100lbs. when completed. (Hoist and conveyor line used to move completed beams.) Lift and install piece parts, which weigh up to 20lbs. Process repeated up to 50 times per day. • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment as scheduled. • Perform machine-to-machine material handling as necessary within cell. • Conduct required quality checks using basic measuring equipment. • Accurately report daily activities on work orders, schedules and other media as required. • Keep machine and work area clean and free of safety hazards. • Follow safety procedures and exercise safe working habits while operating the machines. • Operate other material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, etc. Other duties as assigned by Team Leader or Group Facilitator. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: • High School diploma or G.E.D. from accredited school. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Must pass the Hendrickson weld test - 2G or equivalent • Must be able to read and write legibly. • Must be familiar with blueprints • Must pass drug and alcohol screen and remain drug free throughout the term of employment. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator/Builder to join our team. Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Preparation, welding and finishing operations of product components • Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols • Process inspection & certification, and documentation • Welding equipment maintenance • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools • Assist in general assembly of our packaged pump systems as required • Handling materials with cranes and forklifts • Identifying piping components and assembling piping systems • Other duties may be assigned Qualifications • Proficient in the use of MIG welding, plasma torches, and carbon arc cutting • Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steels • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.) • Working knowledge of conventional and precision measuring instruments • General Metal working skills • Welders must be able to achieve certification per AWS D1.1 in GMAW 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G positions • Must provide your own weld hood • Must be able to pass a drug test to be considered for employment Competencies • Problem Solving – Identify and assist in resolving problems in a timely manner; Work well in group and solo problem-solving situations. • Technical Skills – Pursue training and development opportunities as required; Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills • Interpersonal – Focus on solving conflict positively; keep emotions under control Remain open to new ideas and be willing to try new things; participate in meetings, while listening and seeking clarification when needed • Teamwork – Balance team and individual responsibilities; give and welcome feedback.
