Solar Project Manager

Job description SOLAR PROJECT MANAGER Same Sun of Vermont, a dynamic solar design and installation company is looking for a leader to manage our field crews, keep our production schedule on track and add advanced expertise in the development of solar and EV charging stations. A resume, cover letter and a minimum of 3 job references are required for consideration. Description The position will require understanding of the development of residential and commercial solar projects, and net metering to the 500 KW AC level in Vermont, New York and New Hampshire. Knowledge of safety protocols, code/regulatory compliance in each territory, and understanding of one- and three-line drawings. Qualifications • NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification required; Vermont Solar S-license (or equivalent state license) or other certifications a plus; • Prior solar installation experience required, 2+ years design a plus; • Experience managing field crews a plus; • Experience working with local Vermont, New York and New Hampshire utilities a plus; · Basic understanding of building construction and familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC, 2017 and up) required; • Degree or specialty training in the trades with focus/concentration on solar is a plus; • Strong computer skills, including MS office, google suite, CRM’s; • IT experience, knowledge of communication protocols a plus; • Experience with visual design software such as SketchUp, AutoCad, SmartDraw, Visio, etc. • Familiarity/experience with solar design software, such as PVWatts, Helioscope, Aurora, Solmetric Suneye, etc desired. • OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 preferred; • Background check may be required. Primary Job Responsibilities • Prepare rough design of each project, evaluate interconnection, involving Master Electrician when necessary, and set customer expectations for equipment/conduit locations and process; • Manage and support field crews, set daily project goals, coordinate delivery and source specialty items, maintain communicate with foremen and management; • Work closely with management, sales and operations team as Technical Resource; • Provide design and as-built support to service division for repair/troubleshooting purposes; • Communicate with local AHJ’s as appropriate and work with operations team to ensure permit applications are compliant and design is consistent with state, local or utility requirements; • Attend product trainings and research new products/technologies. Role Description Scopes of work would involve Solar PV, Battery Storage and EV Charging systems, as well as O&M and troubleshooting work.
