The Energy division’s product line consists of Converters & Inverters for the Solar and Wind Power market. Summary: Ingeteam is looking for a Field Service Technician. The Field Service Technician will provide technical customer support primarily for Commissioning, AFS and Retrofits for Ingeteam products and other aftersales field service activities as needed. Responsibilities: Commissioning • Travel to customer sites and perform commissioning and troubleshooting activities. Travel will be, on average, 60-80% of the time, or as needed. • Work with customers and site owners to ensure tasks are performed on time, efficiently and safely. • Coordinate with Field Service Engineer or Supervisor’s direction, along with project/site manager, the completion of day-to-day tasks and any unplanned events. • Complete commissioning reports and other documentation and provide them to management. • Report any technical questions or changes to work performed to Ingeteam project team. • Develop ideas to decrease costs and increase efficiency during commissioning activities. • Work with other Ingeteam and subcontracted technicians during commissioning. • Upload new/latest FW • Complete expense reports and submit them to management. • Inform the customer of any new features and/or product improvements on Ingeteam’s products. Aftersales Support • Travel to customer sites and perform aftersales (AFS) warranty and retrofit activities. Travel will be, on average, 20-40% of the time. • Work with Field Service Engineer or Supervisor direction to resolve all Ingeteam scope of supply equipment issues. • Travel to site to repair or replace damaged equipment. • Request assistance from management if help with aftersales questions is needed. • Use test bench to help resolve technical questions or problems. • Make sure all documentation, pictures and other related files to an incident are properly stored in the Ingeteam server. • Work with customers and management to ensure all required failed equipment gets returned to Ingeteam. • Work with customers and site owners to ensure tasks are performed on time, efficiently and safely. • Work with other Ingeteam and subcontracted technicians during AFS and retrofit activities. • Develop ideas to decrease costs an increase efficiency during AFS and retrofit activities. • Complete expense reports and submit to management. • Inform the customer of any new features and/or product improvements on Ingeteam’s products. • Follow all H&S and PPE requirements per task. Other responsibilities: • Commissioning assistance at site with other projects as needed. • Prepare reports and documents for management. • Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational requirements for quality management and environmental, health and safety standards, policies and procedures. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications: • At least one-year experience as an electronics technician preferred. 3+ years’ experience with electronics or power electronics preferred. • Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting PV & storage systems preferred. • Previous solar experience preferred. • Electrical knowledge/training required. Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations. • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills. Must be able to troubleshoot systems with little or no support to achieve customers’ expectations of product uptime. • Must be able to troubleshoot new equipment/features solutions provided by Ingeteam. • Familiarity with different software interfaces to equipment (e.g. setting static IP address) preferred. • Must be able to read/write to an inverter and equipment registers. • Must have the ability to understand and analyze Modbus TCP, RTU and CAN communication protocols. • Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work with all types of customers and personalities and with different levels of expertise. • Experience responding and resolving technical questions over the phone preferred. • Must be able and willing to work with colleagues and as a team. • Must have good prioritization, organization, analytical and planning skills. • Must be flexible, be able to adapt to new situations, have self-control, be self-motivated, have initiative and high integrity. • Must be willing and able to travel both nationally and internationally in response to customer calls. Must be available to travel on short notice.
