Sheet Metal Worker Supervisor II

**Overview:** The Sheet Metal Worker Supervisor II is responsible for supervising, planning, coordinating, and assigning the shop and field activities of a large group of up to 25 crafts personnel engaged in the fabrication, installation, modification, repair, and replacement of a wide variety of sheet metal fixtures, articles, and equipment. **Responsibilities:** • Supervise skilled Sheet Metal workers on special creative assignments • Be directly involved with Airport terminal maintenance that will enhance passenger experience • Assign and direct work to subordinates • Estimate labor and material cost for work orders • Requisition tools and materials • Maintain time records of sheet metal staff • Coordinate work schedules • Utilize computer to interface with departmental personnel • Assist with training and safety meetings • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned • *Qualifications:** • Minimum Qualifications: + 2 years of experience planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the work of a crew of subordinate workers engaged in sheet metal fabrication, modification, repair, and/or installation equivalent to the scope and level of a Class 9345 Sheet Metal Supervisor I + 10 years experience as a journey-level sheet metal worker, or a combination of training and experience in the trade totaling 10 years. Sheet Metal Worker

Metal Design & Strategy is a full service metal wall panel contractor and manufacturer in the San Francisco Bay area and is currently looking to expand its team with 2 Journeyman and 2 apprentice level sheet metal workers. Job Responsibilities include: -Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products -Measure, mark dimensions and lay out material to be installed using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators and squares -Fasten joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts and metal driver clips, ensuring work is done carefully and bonds will last -Install assemblies, including pipes, HVAC ducts, flashings, rain gutters and furnace casings in supportive frameworks -Ensure that efficiency is maximized while fabricating and installing HVAC systems -Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and a seamless appearance -Select the appropriate type and gauge of sheet metal to be used in projects according to specifications -Ensure safety is a priority on the job during all activities, including using tools and installing and fabricating metal -Measure, cut and bend various types of sheet metal into appropriate sizes and shapes -Connect ducts and joints by welding, bolting, riveting or soldering -Read and analyze blueprints and operate computerized fabricating equipment such as shears, saws and presses -Drill, anchor and install sheet metal parts according to product specifications Job Skills & Qualifications Reqiured: -Minimum 3-5 years experience working with sheet metal -High school diploma or equivalent -Ability to lift heavy materials and tools -Must be able to read and interpret blueprints -Excellent math skills -Knowledge of building codes Pay is between $35-$80/hr which commiserates with experience and level of work.
