About this Opportunity: Supervise and coordinate the activities of Sheet Metal operators on their respective shift. Sheet Metal includes; Shear, NC Punch, NC Bend, Laser cutting, Grinding and Deburring and other related processes Responsibilities: • Release work orders from Programming and from the Director of Operations (DO) to the production floor. • Communicates and coordinates with the DO and Customer Account Managers regarding production issues that may affect work order quality and or on-time delivery. • Maintain time and production records. • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems. • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of parts. • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of jobs. • Promote team effort and making sure that all employees understand that helping all shifts and other shifts will increase the performance level of all shifts. • Assist department leads to meet goals and objectives through motivation, guidance, and perseverance. • Writes and conducts annual performance evaluations. • Work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude. • Support training and education of the operators. Requirements / Skills: • AA degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school: or six months to one year of related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. • 5 - 10 years of experience working as a Sheet Metal operator with experience with Amada NC machines (preferred experience) • 3 - 5 years of management/supervisory experience. • Working knowledge of ERP systems. • Verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all employees. • Strong blueprint reading skills. • Working knowledge of measuring tools (Calipers, Pin Gauges, Micrometers, height gauges, etc.). • Excellent computers skills and the ability to create documents using software programs including the creation of spreadsheets. • High level problem assessment and solution skills. • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Overview: Our client is an established full-service design-build mechanical contractor that is currently seeking a Sheet Metal Estimator to join their growing team within the San Jose California market.
