Overview: TransitAmerica Services, Inc. is currently looking for a qualified Sheet Metal Worker in San Jose, CA to join our team. The pay rate for this position is $46.78 per hour. Duties and Responsibilities: • This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position. • Performs inspection, testing and maintenance in accordance with 49CFR regulations. • Troubleshoots equipment to determine corrective actions and causes of equipment failures. • Installs, maintains and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and systems. • Repairs brake, water heating and sanitation systems • Installs, maintains and repairs heating and cooling equipment and related piping. • Responsible for installing and sometimes fabricating metal sheeting used in a variety of applications. • Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position. • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Completion of technical school or apprenticeship program preferred. • Experience in troubleshooting, repair, replacement or rebuilding mechanical equipment and systems. • Prefer welding and cutting experience. • Experience in the maintenance of railroad equipment preferred. • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. • Ability to read mechanical drawings. • Knowledge and skill in the use of electrical tools, equipment, and the measurements necessary to meet established standards. • Maintain a valid driver’s licenses as required per position. • Some computer skills. • Ability to read, write and communicate proficiently.
