Sheet Metal Assembler (2nd Shift) - Full-time

Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a/an Sheet Metal Assembler in USA, Fontana Ca. Reporting to the Production Manager the Sheet Metal Assembler is responsible for assembling fabricated metal parts for enclosure buildings according to specifications. What a typical day looks like: • Review, analyze, and follow various blueprints, diagrams, drawing, procedures, and work instructions to complete enclosure building assemblies • Assemble sheet metal panels for enclosure building doors, walls, roofs, and trusses • Uses various power tools and hand tools (ex. Drills, impacts, screwdrivers, grinders, etc.) to accomplish assigned tasks • Conduct quality assurance checks to confirm that assembled products meet specifications and quality standards • Identify any product defects; record and report them accordingly • Monitor and maintain inventory of necessary supplies, tools, and parts in workstation • Maintain a clean and safe work area • Perform all other duties as assigned The experience we’re looking to add to our team: • High School Diploma or equivalent • Prior experience in assembly • Prior experience in a manufacturing or construction environment preferred • Prior experience operating powered equipment (forklift, reach truck, scissors lift, overhead crane, etc. • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform work accurately • Knowledge of manufacturing, equipment maintenance, and safety management • Reading comprehension skills with the ability to interpret and follow written directions, blueprints, wiring drawings, schematics, and engineering diagrams • Basic math skills to meet technical specifications and measurements • Basic understanding of tools (ex. We are seeking a skilled Drafter with strong SolidWorks experience to join our engineering and production team. This individual will play a key role in customizing, creating, and modifying switchgear blueprints and related electrical drawings to meet client and manufacturing requirements. Position Overview The Sheet Metal/SolidWorks drafter will work directly with engineers and manufacturing personnel to produce detailed 2D and 3D models, assembly drawings, and fabrication prints for electrical switchgear and power distribution systems. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical drafting principles, as well as familiarity with UL, NEMA, and NEC standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple drawing projects in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities • Create, modify, and maintain detailed SolidWorks drawings and 3D models for custom switchgear assemblies. • Draft and update electrical and mechanical blueprints, including wiring layouts, bus configurations, and component placement. • Ensure all drawings meet UL 891 and NEMA compliance standards. • Collaborate with engineers to translate conceptual designs and specifications into detailed fabrication drawings. • Revise and maintain drawing documentation throughout the product lifecycle. • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and related documentation. • Communicate design changes to production and quality assurance teams to ensure accurate builds. • Manage and organize drawing files within the company’s design and data management systems. • Support product certification processes by preparing technical drawings for review and submission. • Coordinate with vendors and fabrication partners for part fitment and manufacturability feedback. Qualifications • 2+ years of experience as a Drafter or Design Technician in an electrical or mechanical engineering environment. • Experience in working with sheet metal or switchgear. • Experience in working with bending & forming materials. • Proficiency in SolidWorks (2D and 3D modeling required). • Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or similar drafting software a plus. • Strong understanding of electrical panel board layouts, switchgear assemblies, and power distribution systems. • Ability to interpret and draft one-line diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings. • Knowledge of UL, NEMA, and NEC standards applicable to switchgear manufacturing. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related technical field preferred.
