Key Responsibilities • The Sheet Metal Journeyman will assemble, install and repair sheet metal products and equipment such as ductwork, fittings, fans, dampers and air distribution. • Install duct, accessories and equipment at the jobsite according to blueprints and specifications. • Proper and safe use of hand tools and portable power tools. • May be required to work with Sheet Metal Helpers and Apprentices to provide training, oversight and instruction to ensure teammates are performing tasks safely, per SMACNA and project specifications. • Must be able to take direction, be accepting to change and strive for continuous improvement. Qualifications • Minimum of four (4) years working in the field and/or sheet metal shop. • Comprehension of SMACNA standards. • GED or High School Graduate Preferred. • Understand how to measure ducts for fabrication, make field modifications and install ducts by Shop Blueprints. • Work skillfully with tools, metals and machines. • Perform a variety of duties which may change often. • Understand English follow and provide directives to assigned helpers. • This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
