We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Plumber with excellent residential plumbing skills to join our growing team with the goal of maintaining flow and drainage of waters, air and other gases by assembling, installing and repairing pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures while maintaining safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems across our customer base. This role will primarily support the Service Department by responding to service calls, diagnosing plumbing issues, and providing high-quality repairs and customer service. Responsibilities: • Provide leadership, training and instruction for junior members of the Plumbing Team • Independently assemble, install, maintain and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage and gas systems according to specification and plumbing codes • Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including waters heaters, waters softeners, residential plumbing fixtures etc. • Install/repair dishwashers and kitchen equipment that incorporate gas or water usage • Received and complete daily work orders • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates for management • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and materials • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean • Work with customers and supervisors to ensure project completion has met or exceeded customer expectations • Respond to emergency calls as needed • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment • Correct any unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area • Other duties may include working in the other areas of the company to provide support during absences, staff shortages in other trades or to perform duties associated with light construction projects Requirements • Maintain a valid Massachusetts Journeyman Plumber license • Valid drivers license and ability to drive a company truck or van • 4+ years experience as an Apprentice Plumber • Experience with plumbing repairs, maintenance and installation techniques • Knowledge of plumbing codes • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material • Ability to perform mathematical calculations • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems • Ability to work independently • Experience with using hand and power tools; pipe bender, propane torch • Experience with maintaining a safe work environment Competencies: • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with customers, co-workers, and management • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability, prioritize, and resolve problems • Strong personal time management skills both at customer sites and with completing of administrative tasks
