Master Plumber

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Department: Facilities Management Position is located: Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Work Type: Full Time Hours Per Week: 40.00 Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Summary : Position requires coordination and performance of work assignments and activities of Master Plumber. Must be able to schedule maintenance, construction and repair activities for buildings, grounds, and utilities in conjunction with the Facilities Manager. Must have understanding of Plumbing Codes and guidelines for proper plumbing installations. Must have a working knowledge of HVAC Systems Pnuematic controls, boilers, chillers, pumps and major plumbing system. Must be able to function in a work environment that requires bending, squatting, stooping, prolonged standing and walking. Also required is the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding. May be exposed to hazards from the use of electrical, mechanical and power equipment, toxic chemicals, and gasses. Perform any duties and/or responsibilities assigned by Facility Manager or Mechanical Supervisor. Responsibilities : • Provides Technical assistance, ordering supplies, etc. • Ability to work independently in the absence of direct supervision. • Problem Solver • Strong communication skills • Maintain Corporate Plumbing and Sprinkler Licenses. • Operation and maintenance of various steam and heating equipment throughout the medical center. • Assists Mechanical Shop Supervisor and Maintenance Planner in the design and maintenance of the mechanical shop budget. • Work with Maintenance Planner to order and specify material for plumbing and piping systems. • Responsible for all piping and plumbing repairs • Must be proficient reading blueprints and specifications • Registration of all pressure vessels. • Works with contractors and other maintenance staff to ensure code requirements are met. • Computer skills. • Must be able to perform scheduled tasks on off shifts • Provide assistance to other Maintenance shops as required • Other duties as assigned • Completes regular scheduled inspections of mechanical equipment/ spaces to observe and report operating conditions • Responsible for scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and document activities with appropriate records • Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental education programs. Attends scheduled maintenance training programs • Attends construction/planning meetings pertinent to mechanical systems. Description The successful candidates will have experience servicing, repairing and installing commercial plumbing systems. The ideal candidate will possess a Journeyman or Master Plumbing License. Experienced candidates with a Trainee Plumber License will also be considered.
