Description Summary: Implements proper design, installation and maintenance of systems. Insures public safety, directs team members to implement work efficiently and timely, and provide training and support. Responsibilities: 1. Designs and adapts installation of new plumbing systems to existing plumbing systems through out the hospital as required by project or customer used. Researches and investigates existing systems for accessibility and adaptability for new construction projects. 4. Researches and investigates the possibilities and methods for isolating building systems and the potential causes and effects of isolating those systems, so not to hinder departmental or hospital functions. 5. Researches and investigates projects in conjunction with outside contractors to insure that all work is done in an efficient, equitable and safe manner. 6. Researches and investigates the cost of material for departmental and hospital projects. Orders material and tracks its status. 7. Performs in-house plumbing, heating and steam system repairs in the event of hospital emergencies or lack of qualified personnel. 8. Researches and investigates hospital sprinkler systems for accessibility, adaptability and for the possibility of isolating systems for new construction projects. 9. Performs carpentry, framing, drywall, flooring, carpeting, drop ceilings, painting and demolition duties. 10. Supervises outside contract on plumbing projects. 11. Signs for plumbing permits to support ongoing renovation projects. 12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 13. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT Other Information: Required: P1 (Unlimited Plumbing Contractor) license required. MG1 (Medical Gas & Vacuum Systems) license to be obtained within 6 months. Minimum Experience: seven years or more Desired: F2 (Fire Protection Systems) license, and S4 (Heating, Piping, and Cooling) license desired.
