This position will be assigned to work 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:30 PM) and will be expected to work overtime on a voluntary or mandatory basis per business and operational requirements. What You Will Do: • The selected Pipefitter will use machines, tools and equipment including but not limited to a variety of hand and power tools associated within the plumbing/pipefitting trade. This includes backflow testing tools, sewer machines, pressure regulators, pumps, oil pumps, digital scales, electric drills, pipe threading/cutting equipment, soldering, step ladders and extension ladders, pry bars, bending and flaring tools, thermometers. • Performing service plumbing duties on commercial restrooms by working from diagrams, schematic drawings, sketches, prints, operating manuals and verbal instruction. • Inspecting and repairing industrial systems such as water (reverse osmosis, potable and non-potable water), gasses (argon, nitrogen, hydrogen, helium, compressed air, natural gas), storage and supply systems, valves, fixtures, cooling towers, chilled water pumps and chillers. • Troubleshooting various types of malfunctioning plumbing equipment and resolving identified issues. • Installing and modifying piping systems. • Retrieving material and stock for all assigned work. • Maintaining complete documentation of maintenance records in accordance with departmental requirements. • Performing all work tasks safely and in accordance with company environment, health and safety procedures. Qualifications You Must Have: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. • Experience with commercial plumbing systems including commercial restrooms. • Basic mechanical aptitude, and ability to perform regular manual labor. • Basic computer skills. Qualifications We Prefer: • Trade School Completion. • Experience with commercial plumbing systems including commercial restrooms. • State of Connecticut Backflow Tester certification or willingness and ability to be certified within the first two years of employment. • P1 or P2 License. Pipe Fitter B POSITION - Union: Pipe Fitter B NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1 QUALIFICATIONS: • Must pass the Bennett mechanical comprehension test. • Graduate of high school, trade school, or other formal technical training with experience in the plumbing / pipefitting or HVAC field. • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively. • Must have a MVD license and good driving record. • Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude, with basic skills and experience in either Distribution or Fitting work. • Understand and follow oral and written instructions and interpret drawings or prints. • Requires mandatory progression to the bottom of Pipe Fitter A classification within 18 months. • Requires successful completion of a written test and field observation audit. • Must be physically able to perform heavy lifting and manual labor duties as required.
