CMT Technical Services is currently seeking Construction Materials Technicians to join our team in Show Low, Arizona. Description • Perform testing procedures on materials to assess their quality and performance. • Prepare and set up equipment for testing. • Collect samples for laboratory testing. • Analyze and interpret test data and report findings to a senior technician or engineer. • Adhere to safety procedures and protocols during testing processes. • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate results. • Identify and report any discrepancies or anomalies in test results. • Prepare specimens for testing, including cutting, drilling or grinding materials. • Document all test procedures, observations, and results in a detailed and organized manner. • Collaborate with a team of engineers and technicians to develop and improve testing methods. • Ensure all testing materials and areas are clean and organized. Role Requirements • Must have ATTI, ACI, Nuclear Density Gauge certifications • Proficient in construction inspections. • Proficient in specifications and plan interpretation. • Possess good mathematical skills. • Experience performing independent analysis and problem-solving. • Demonstrated organizational skills. • Strong oral and written communication skills; experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge. • Demonstrated experience working successfully in a team environment. • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required. • A valid driver's license is required. Preferred Qualifications • Considerable knowledge of roadway, buildings, structure, construction methods, procedures, practices, plans, and specifications materials used and performance and safety responsibilities related to the construction of transportation facilities, civil work, and building construction. • Knowledge in the use of electronic data processing equipment and contract management software. • Knowledge of general inspection and testing principles, safety and quality control-quality assurance principles. • Skill in the use of nuclear density, and materials testing equipment. • Ability to interpret roadway, civil, and/or building plans, specifications, and codes. Physical Demands • Lifting of concrete cylinders, wheelbarrows, and other tools is necessary requires the ability to lift 50 pounds. • The position may require work in adverse weather conditions, long hours, night shifts, and weekends.
