Job Description We are seeking hardworking and reliable construction laborers for advancement opportunities at Wolgast Corporation, an employee-owned company. Laborers will be responsible for various tasks including general carpentry, site utilities, and concrete foundations. A TYPICAL DAY ON THE JOB • Acting as client, contractor, and project manager liaison for the construction of municipal and MDOT infrastructure projects. • Observation of construction work in progress to ensure conformance with specifications, examining workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards, and maintaining detailed records of work performed by contractors. • Communicates directly with clients and owners, hold and attend meetings, review shop drawings, perform quantity take offs, generate preliminary estimates of cost. • Performs office technician duties such as reviewing certified payrolls, reviewing IDR’s for compliance to standards, generating pay estimates and contract modifications. • Familiarity with MDOT specifications, standard plans, and work practice is preferred. • Conducts material testing as related to: HMA sampling, concrete sampling and testing, aggregate sampling, mechanical testing of aggregates, compaction testing for granular, aggregate, clay, and HMA materials. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • High school diploma • Construction inspection experience, preferably in the areas of municipal infrastructure, MDOT Road, and Bridge Construction • Valid driver’s license
