Light Duty Construction Helper

POSITION PURPOSE: The Installation Helper has full accountability for the effective and efficient completion of installation efforts for D&H customers. He/She is responsible for assisting with the installation of various tanks, performing normal construction duties while simultaneously providing outstanding customer service. This position requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Assists in installing various tank sizes both above and underground at customer sites 2. Uses heavy duty construction equipment to meet customer demands regarding installation projects 3. Completes normal construction tasks such as pouring concrete, pipe fitting, framing, mixing, and finishing 4. Installs and repairs petroleum equipment including USTs, ASTs, gas pumps, fuel monitoring systems, submersible pumps, and product piping 5. Utilizes and maintains various hand tools to complete daily construction tasks 6. Assists in the completion of differing construction projects including but not limited to concrete removal and replacement as well as manhole and spill containment replacements 7. Confers with customers to respond to open service orders, providing exceptional customer service 8. Collaborates with other D&H departments to provide exceptional customer service 9. Ensures compliance with company policies, industry standards, and contractual agreements 10. Complies with all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the D&H employee and safety handbooks 11. Performs all other duties as assigned. minimum qualifications 1. Have 1 year of experience in a construction position 2. Have fuel industry experience (preferred) Basic Knowledge & Competencies: • Ability to influence in both formal and informal settings via collaboration and use of facts / data • Excellent Customer Service and multi-tasking skills • Capability to work well under pressure • Outstanding communication skills in both verbal and written formats • Capacity to remain calm and effectively deal with high-stress situations. • Ability to work through projects and drive out efficiencies • Willingness to work with multiple users at all levels of the organization without sacrificing quality • Strong attention to details and high level of accuracy while maintaining short deadlines with data • Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data. • Analyzing information and evaluating results to create solutions and solve problems • Flexibility to work within a constantly changing work environment PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: • High School diploma or equivalent needed • Previous experience with heavy duty equipment and hand tools preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Frequent use of hands • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally • May work in extreme types of weather
