R. J. Jacques, Inc. has immediate openings for full-time masonry restoration technicians / masons / laborers. The majority of work is masonry restoration (tuckpointing) with other tasks including laying of all masonry materials, caulking, cleaning, waterproofing, coating, etc. We offer competitive wages and benefits. This is a full-time position with opportunity for overtime. This is a physically demanding job and applicants should be able to lift 75lbs. on a regular basis and be able to work at heights. Applicants should have a valid driver’s license. Compensation (pay) is based on experienced. We offer benefit plans which includes Health, Dental, Vacation, Holiday pay. We also pay travel to and from job sites. About A small family owned Specialty Contractor that works typically within northeastern Wisconsin with emphasis in masonry restoration, PCC, and waterproofing has an immediate opening for a full time General Laborer/Tuck Pointer. Services Provided New Construction: Above / Below Grade Waterproofing and Damp proofing - Caulking - Brick Cleaning - Above Grade water repellents and coatings - Industrial floor joint filling. Restoration Work: Tuck-pointing - Pressure Washing - Chemical Cleaning - Re-caulking - Waterproof Coatings - Brick and Stone Replacement - Industrial floor joint filling and repair We Specialize in Commercial Projects Including: Churches - Schools - Hospitals - Elderly Housing - Apartment Complexes – Food Preparation and Packaging Facilities, and Warehousing. Job Responsibilities • Performs general tuck pointing, caulking, cleaning, or waterproofing as assigned. • Travel to and from assigned job sites from the shop in company owned vehicles. Overnight stays as required if job site is located outside of the economically feasible travel distance as determined by the Operations Manager / Project Manager. • Loads equipment and supplies and hauls to job site. Ensures that necessary equipment and supplies are available. Erects scaffolding, shoring, and braces. Ensures that site is safe and equipment/scaffolding are properly erected. • Mixes or oversees the mixing of mortar, caulking, waterproofing as required; applies/installs bricks, block, stone, caulking, waterproofing, dampproofing, elastomeric coatings, penetrating sealers, cleaning compounds to a variety of surfaces including but not limited to walls, ceilings or floors. • Uses masonry saws, tuck pointing tools, trowels, caulking equipment, aerial lifts, boom trucks, ladders, scaffolding, swing stage equipment, pneumatic hand tools, pressure washers, and sand blasting equipment etc. to install, fit pieces, level, and finish joints. • Constructs/repairs masonry walls and foundations. Applies caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices in walls, ceilings or floors. Uses chemicals to clean mortar or other stains from brick or masonry surfaces. Use chemicals safely • Cleans work area and maintains shop and tools, including assigned vehicle. • Wearing of proper, personal protective gear. Performance of basic construction tasks safely, the proper and safe usage of hand and power tools. Demonstration of the knowledge of what to do in the event of an accident, and following OSHA requirements for hazard communication, fall protection, and use of personal protective gear. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. • Performs other duties as assigned.
