Carpenter

Job Function: Be able to demonstrate ability to engage in various carpentry, concrete, and steel trade work activities. Generally defined as rough and finish carpentry, selective demolition, concrete forming and finishing as well as steel erection and metal wall panel installation and miscellaneous specialty installation, as well as all General Laborer duties when necessary. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Be able to complete installation of various cabinets and casework, countertops, windowsills, finish hardware and toilet accessories; installation of hollow metal doors and frames, windows, interior and exterior doors, case and base. 2. Proficient at interior and exterior wall framing and sheathing (Plywood and DensGlass or equal); installation of floor and roof trusses; framing of floor joist systems; installation of floor and roof sheathing; installation of all floor and roof hangers and hardware; installation of wood blocking and caulking. 3. Be able to lay out interior rooms per plans and specifications and engage in steel stud installation and related accessories. 4. Be able to construct framing, trim and railings; install exterior siding; install FRP panels and miscellaneous specialties (mirrors, grab-bars, built-in garbage containers, partitions). 5. Engage in the collaborative construction of stairs, stair handrail, cap and skirt boards; lay out roof and floor trusses; Construct: roof field framed rafters, trusses and columns, soffit and facia and install if necessary. 6. Engage in concrete forming for footings, foundations and flatwork; while demonstrating knowledge of various forming techniques and knowledge of forming systems themselves. (Symons & Wood) 7. Pour concrete for all related forming activities and engage in concrete finishing as necessary based on the work. Be able to demonstrate the ability to finish concrete using brush, hand trowel, bull floats, screeds and power trowels. 8. Engage in structural steel erection of columns, beams, joists, crossmembers, girts, purlins or Xbracing using nut and bolt connections and/or welding. 9. Attach metal wall panels to structural steel components using clip attachments or other specified installation practices and correlated insulation. 10. Operate as necessary all equipment needed to place trade work as assigned and possess or work towards all necessary certifications. (all-terrain forklift, skid steer, MEWPs, Scissor-lift) 11. Demonstrate ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, based on or commensurate with skillset and/or years as a carpenter for layout of rooms, selective demolition and other needs to prepare for and preform placement of work. 12. Continual refinement of skills to increase quality of rough and finish carpentry installation, concrete and steel erection. 13. Be able to understand and enforce Ellis Construction safety standards, per Ellis Construction Safety Compliance Manual. 14. Perform any other project related duties as assigned by Ellis Project Superintendent or person designated by Project Superintendent.
