Mason Tender/Laborers Job Description: Are you a perfectionist and pride yourself on precise and quality performance? If you answered yes, come work with the Marriott masonry crew. Our crews lay building materials, including block, brick and stone, for commercial building projects. The masonry laborer supports the masons and are responsible for transporting materials to the work area and scaffold where the masons are working. They mix and transport grout, cut bricks as needed for corners, arches and complex patterns, and perform other duties as directed by their foreman. In order to be successful, mason laborers must have a strong work ethic and be very quality minded. Minimum Skills Required: • 1-2 years experience in Commercial Mason Laboring, however, we will train the right candidate. • Strong math skills • Willingness to learn and follow instructions. • Must be able to safely & proficiently use all hand tools of the trade. • Ability to perform high quality work at a fast pace. • Ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive work. • Must be willing and able to work long hours & Saturdays. • Must be safety oriented at all times. • Strong work ethic (dependable, excellent attendance, trustworthy) • Ability to work well with others. • Must have a reliable means of transportation and a valid driver's license. Cement Mason Journeyman Milwaukee, WI, United States | Milwaukee Office SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Cement Mason Journeyman that will be responsible for smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures, using appropriate tools (i.e., hand or power tools, floats, trowels, screeds). RESPONSIBILITIES Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency Prep work utilizing cementitious or finish product to ensure substrate is appropriate for product; set forms to specific standards, such as chipping, bushing, and grinding Level, smooth, and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete Finish concrete surfaces using power trowel, or wet and rub concrete with abrasive stone to create finish; place concrete to ensure proper elevation Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer Patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound Mold expansion joints and edges Grind, chip, or blast to prep surface for materials, or as finish Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels All other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED Minimum two (2) years related experience Must have passed Apprentice Aptitude Test Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; knowledge of equipment and their uses; basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication) Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, active listening skills, and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs. On-Site Staffing Services is seeking Commercial Mason Tenders/Laborers with experience tending to block, brick, and stone for building and construction projects in the Southeastern Wisconsin surrounding area. Commercial Mason Tenders/Laborers perform many tasks involving physical labor. They are responsible for keeping crew members supplied with materials, tools, etc., and for general site clean-up. JOB REQUIREMENTS: · Keep crew members supplied with necessary materials, tools, ice water, etc. · React immediately when told to go get something for crew members · Mix motor/mud per job requirement · Lubricate, clean, fuel, and oversee the operation of equipment · Operate a variety of hand and power tools · Organize and maintain job site trailers, trucks, and gang boxes · Inventory tools and equipment to ensure they are returned to trailers, trucks, and gang boxes at the end of each workday · Inspect returned tools and equipment at the end of each day for damages · Ensure all locks are secured at the end of each workday · Understand and follow OSHA safety policies and applicable laws · Use measuring tape accurately to the nearest fraction of an inch · Help monitor pedestrian traffic near work zone · Work high above the ground from a variety of scaffolding, lifts, and rooftops · Ability to operate forklifts, off-road forklifts, load all, hydro mobile scaffolding, aerial lifts, and scissor lifts. Knowledge of forklift and crane hand signals. · Must be willing to travel as you need to drive from site to site.
