Job Title: Machinist (Mill) Reports To: The Machinist will report to the Mill Manager Job Overview: Under the supervision of the Mill Manager, the Machinist assists with the set-up and operation of both vertical and horizontal Mills that are used to fabricate metallic parts. The Machinist must be familiar with a variety of CNC concepts, practices, and procedures with the ability to work with minimal supervision once assigned tasks Responsibilities and Duties: · Assist with completing Mill work orders to complete Production needs · Perform Mill maintenance as needed and maintain records accordingly · Assists with performing complex machining operations on CNC Milling machines · Must have extensive knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances · Must be able to read and interpret drawings effectively · Assists with determining the best CNC Milling practices as needed · Must be able to verify conformance of finished work pieces to specification, using precision measuring instruments · Must be able to produce quality parts in a timely manner · Will conduct precise measurements using tools such as a tape measures, micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc. · Will perform general cleaning, such as sweeping the floor around his/her assigned area, emptying large waste containers, moving/sorting material, etc. · Assists with setting-up Mills by installing and adjusting chucks, miscellaneous tools, various attachments, etc., that are necessary to complete CNC Milling processes · Assists with programing Mills by entering data, including (but not limited to) zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, etc. · Must be able to properly use cranes for overhead lifting purposes · Must abide by safety protocols at all times · Other duties as needed/assigned Qualifications: · High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred · 1-2 years’ experience with CNC machines preferred · 1-2 years’ experience in the machining industry with a knowledge of fabrication, mechanics, drafting, and other related fields preferred · Previous Forklift experience preferred · Ability to walk and stand on concrete surfaces · Ability to stand for long periods of time, reaching, lifting, and bending · Lifting/pushing objects weighing over 50 lbs. on occasion · Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test · Must pass a pre-employment background check Job Type: Full-time Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
