Lathe Operator

ATS Scientific Products is expanding our team in Vineland, NJ and have immediate openings for a Lathe Operator. In this position the right candidate will be asked to perform a variety of duties related to the manufacturing and development of products within the scientific glass industry. Hours are Monday- Thursday on 1st Shift - 4/10s schedule. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Ability to run all lathe machines • Capable of holding tolerances according specifications • Operator must know what produces certain effects heat speed vacuum and how to correct them • Must have understanding of mandrels and their care • Basic knowledge of routine setups • Advise supervision when equipment repairs are needed • Ability to follow work instruction work orders and process sheets • Complete department related paperwork • Advise supervision when any out of standard condition occurs • Assist in training of new personnel • Responsible for measuring your work • Must observe all safety precautions rules and regulations Qualifications/Education • Mathematical skills • Experience with glass lathes and glass tools in a high precision specification environment is required • High School Diploma • Ability to speak read and write in English • Able to solve practical problems. • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form HSE All employees have the responsibility to work in a safe manner and report any health, safety or environmental concern to their manager or supervisor in a timely manner. About the position Responsibilities • Read and interpret blueprints to understand specifications and requirements. • Set up CNC machines for operation, ensuring all parameters are correctly configured. • Operate CNC machines using Fanuc controls to produce parts according to specifications. • Read and interpret G-Code programming to execute machining tasks accurately. • Inspect produced parts to ensure they meet blueprint dimensions and quality standards. Requirements • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or Operator. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Experience with setting up and operating CNC machines, particularly with Fanuc controls. • Familiarity with G-Code programming and its application in CNC operations. • Experience with HAAS or MAZAK CNC machines, both vertical and horizontal.
