Primary Responsibilities As System/Network Administrator you will be responsible for system administration, network administration, hardware and software maintenance, managing certificates and licenses, system patching and optimization, system/database backup and restore, scheduled hardware/software maintenance, networking, and work with the client support to resolve vulnerability and issues. Some high-level duties include but are not limited to the following: • Develop system/network documentation for the National Airport Pavement Test Facility (NAPTF) and National Airport Pavement and Material Research Center (NAPMRC). • Provide technical support to Lab Net (a subnet of the agency enterprise network) administration, including installation of Big Fix monitoring software required by the client. • Manage physical extensions of the Lab Net network within facility, performing switch installations and configurations. • Manage the Big Fix console and the dedicated virtual servers; managing client devices within ATRD and deploying all required agent updates; deploying monthly operating system updates; resolving reported client vulnerabilities. • Attend meetings that require laboratory representation and returning all information requested in data calls. • Provide technical support for NAPTF/NAPMRC network and system administration. • Design, configure, and maintain the networks. • Maintain the interface with the Lab Net network; configuring and enforcing group/local policies; creating and enforcing network credential and access privileges; performing system backups, mirrors, and restorations. • Update and patch the systems. • Resolve hardware and software issues and vulnerabilities. • Maintain the hardware and software in the network to ensure that they are always operational. • Provide recommendations for replacement hardware or software. • Install hardware or software replacements. • Design and configure the data backup architecture. • Perform and monitor data archiving. • Configure database server infrastructure to ensure smooth data processing and data replication across networks. • Provide technical support for cloud services. • Provide technical support to manage cloud services and perform data archiving.
