Position Summary: The CNC Set Up Machinist will be responsible for setting up, proving, validating, and troubleshooting high-precision aerospace parts on vertical and horizontal milling machines. This role requires a demonstrated ability to verify and edit complex programsboth existing and newto meet strict aerospace standards (AS9100). You will develop fixturing, perform in-process inspections, and ensure programs produce defect-free parts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Read and interpret aerospace blueprints with GD&T knowledge. Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis mills (vertical and horizontal) equipped with Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls. Prove, validate, and troubleshoot complex aerospace CNC programs, including developing new programs and making at-the-machine edits. Perform program editssuch as adjusting speeds, feeds, and tool pathsto optimize performance and ensure part quality. Develop and implement fixturing and tooling solutions for high-precision aerospace parts. Troubleshoot machining issues, verifying program logic and performance to resolve problems quickly. Investigate CAM features for measurement and program optimization. Document processes and inspection data accurately per AS9100 standards. Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on CNC equipment. Qualifications & Experience 3-5 years of experience setting up, validating, and troubleshooting aerospace CNC programs on vertical and horizontal mills. Extensive hands-on experience verifying complex aerospace programs, ensuring parts meet tight tolerances. Proficiency with Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls, G & M codes, and manual program editing. Strong knowledge of aerospace standards (AS9100) and experience working with materials such as titanium, aluminum, and composites. Experience with aerospace CAM systems, tooling, and fixture design. Ability to work independently, manage multiple setups, and deliver high-quality, repeatable results. Certification(s) in aerospace manufacturing (e.g., NIMS, AS9100) a plus. Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and critical thinking skills. Skilled with measurement tools, CMMs, and inspection procedures, a plus. Must adhere to safety protocols, wear PPE, and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Physical ability to manage demanding tasks and navigate the manufacturing floor.
