Cnc Laser Setup Operator

Position: CNC LASER SETUP OPERATOR Experience setting up and operating a CNC Laser for cutting light gauge sheet metal is required. Hours of work are Midnight to 8:30 a.m. OR 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with some overtime opportunities. Midnight shift operator trains on dayshift before moving to midnight shift. Requirements: Successful applicants must be able to: • Produce sheet metal parts by setting up and operating a CNC co2 or fiber Laser; • Perform machine set up including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, lens cleaning and adjustments, etc; • Start up and shut down laser machines; • Perform multiple setups per shift, for short runs and longer production runs; • Check accuracy of work using blueprint and precision measuring tools such as calipers; • Have experience with material loading automation; • Edit G code; • Work from blueprints, rough sketches, and customer samples for prototype production. Job Duties Include, but are not limited to: • Inspect, clean, calibrate and perform basic preventive maintenance on machines; • Work with maintenance and repair technicians to diagnose equipment problems as needed; • Continuously monitor machine cutting performance and efficiency adjusting as needed; • Read material tags & work orders, selecting correct materials; • Locate and move raw material and parts with pallet jack or forklift; • Count and record daily production activity; • Separate cut parts from scrap; • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; • Work well with engineering personnel and other machine operators; • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs throughout the shift; • Follow all safety rules and maintain a clean working environment. Requirements: Successful applicants must be able to: • Produce sheet metal parts by setting up and operating a CNC Press Brake; • Perform machine setup including program retrieval and tooling setup; • Produce the maximum number of parts in minimum time by working efficiently; • Perform multiple setups per shift, for short runs and longer production runs; • Knowledge of press brake tooling, how to choose, change & maintain; • Proficiency checking accuracy of work using blueprint and precision measuring tools such as calipers; • Create and Edit programs on a CNC Press Brake for light gauge sheet metal forming of panels and enclosures, with multiple simple or complex bends; • Must be able to read and interpret shop floor drawings, layouts, job folders; • Work from blueprints, rough sketches, and customer samples for prototype production, small batches and production quantities; • Be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat, reach and perform repetitive hand and finger movements; • Be able to work in cold or hot temperatures in plant; • Have excellent attendance.
