Functions & Responsibilities: Produce machined parts by setting up and operating 3-4 axis CNC horizontal and vertical mills, and 4-axis CNC lathe. Expected to handle all aspects of machining from start to finish. Must maintain quality and safety standards, as well as good manufacturing practices associated with the medical device industry. CNC Machinist (2nd Shift)

Summary Produces machined parts by setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines, such as OD grinders, EDM and welding lathes while maintaining quality and safety standards.. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Operate EDM, laser engraver, OD grinder, and welding lathe; ability to program CNC machines is preferred. • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and specifications. • Programs EDM by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets. and conditional stiches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position. • Verifies settings by measuring positions. • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions. Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Machinist - 1st Shift.The core hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm. The rate for this position is $33.11 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations. What you’ll do: • Determine and assist damage to existing tooling and what steps necessary to repair tooling. • Determine if Die is dull or cracked and needs to be resharpened or repaired. • Determine if the poor quality of a product is the result of a tooling problem, or a setup problem. • Perform Die Changeovers for different products. • Read blueprints, use calipers, micrometers, and tape measure for checking dimensions. • Operation of lathes, grinding machines, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinders. Qualifications: Basic (Required) Qualifications: • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship • No relocation is available for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Reno, NV facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. • High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution. • A minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing, design, tooling, and tool designing. • Previous experience and / or education in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). • Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine). • Previous Experience working with machines to include but not limited to CNCs, Lathes, Mills, etc. Position Criteria: • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English. • Able to work safely and produce effectively with minimal supervision. • Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift. • Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance.
