PURPOSE OF POSITION The Machinist is responsible to operate machines and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner to ensure the proper cleaning and preparation of castings as stated in the OMS/process sheet; efficiently inspect finished work. Task and Responsibilities: • Safely operate jib, overhead crane, manual mills and Grade B machines. • Safely operate cold expansion tools, grinders, Huckbolt tools, hydraulic benders or presses, shears, punches, and saws. • Read and follow the production schedule. • Able to work with little supervision. • Adhere to Nortrak’s Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies. • Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and pushing, pulling, or lifting objects for the duration of your required schedule shift. • Use hands and arms to operate tools, handle materials, and reach for the duration of your required scheduled shift. • Regularly lift and carry 30–35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. • Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. • Hearing abilities necessary to perform job tasks safely and effectively. Job Requirements (e.g. education, experience, skills and desired competencies) • High School graduate or GED preferred. • 1 - 2 years of relevant experience preferred. • Forklift and Crane certification preferred. • Knowledge of G and M codes. • Ability to read work orders, ITP’s, blue prints, rulers and tape measures. • Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals. We are seeking Machinist to join our Maintenance team at our Pueblo, Colorado location. As a machinist you will machine, disassemble and assemble parts for equipment and machines in a safe manner. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent. Use lathes, milling machines, vertical and horizontal boring mills, shapers/slotter machines, surface and cylindrical grinders, radial drill presses, appropriate hand, power and measuring tools, radio controlled overhead cranes, fork lifts, presses and all other shop equipment Work Bench-floor & field work, including alignments Utilize materials which include castings, forgings, bar stock flats and rounds Read prints and drawings, layout and plan work according to blueprints, and select proper materials and machines necessary for precision machining of product Test, inspect, dismantle, assemble and repair machined product accurately while making provisions for handling of materials, equipment and tools when needed Observe all safety rules and LOTO procedures Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly Perform routine maintenance and assists Maintenance personnel Work in both inside and outside environmental conditions, while exposed to elevated noise levels, oils solvents, and oil based products, extreme cold and heat; close proximity to moving parts, chips, shavings, scale, and sharp tools Obtain and maintain OSHA 10 and equipment certifications, as required Additional tasks as assigned Requirements Machinist Apprenticeship, AAS degree in Machining Technology or equivalent in an applicable field 1 – 3 years of experience in fabrication and welding in heavy industry, manufacturing, or mining; experience working with machinery, equipment operation or a closely related field preferred Demonstrated proficiency in all categories of Machining Technology, including critical alignments and sophisticated measuring tools Ability to perform installation and set-up of “Class 5” bearings & Babbitt Bearing Fits Competent in manipulating numbers, quantities, shapes and spaces; able to take precise measurements and calculate necessary dimensions Ability to repair machinery required in operating departments and roll shops Valid Colorado Drivers License Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision and manage your time when given multiple tasks Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of personnel Physical ability to climb, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, make repetitive motions, hear, etc. and the ability to constantly exert forces up to 50 pounds and frequently exert forces up to 100 pounds to lift, carry, push and pull Qualified Candidates will be required to demonstrate proficiency through testing The above statement reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job identified, and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all of the work requirements that may be inherent in the job. $28.78-31.86 per hour Shift differential Open & Closing Dates: 8/1/2025 – 12/1/2025 Our total compensation package includes amazing benefits! Skilled Machine Operator

This is a skilled Machinist position available in our Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining, disassembling, and assembling parts for equipment and machines safely.
