Production Manufacturing Heavy Operator

Summary: Shift: 3rd shift (3a - 12:30p) or 2nd shift (12p - 9:30p) Pay: Wages range from $17.28/hour - $20.92/hour depending on position, shift, and experience. (3rd shift - $1.50/hr. shift differential; 2nd shift - $1.00/hr. shift differential) Location: Pocatello This position is responsible for operating machinery and overseeing kitchen operations to ensure compliance with quality standards and production requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Understand and follow all standard batching procedures and techniques. This includes correct weighing and measuring procedures. • Ensure correct tag labeling and storage procedures are being followed. All food or ingredient containers (buckets, plastic totes, transfer carts, steel totes, gondolas, etc.) must have a label which includes the description of contents and dare material goes in to production, weight of bucket. All food safety practices must be followed at all times. • Must have a clear understanding of basic Math and Reading. • Understand the quality attributes (smell, taste, texture, color, particulate size, etc.) of the food ingredients being prepped. Check for quality of items handled and report possible problems immediately to the Lead Prep, or Shift Lead. Duties include but are not limited to: prepping onions, carrots, spinach, cheeses, canned goods, etc. • Report any inventory shortages, raw material issues, or quality concerns immediately to a supervisor. • Follow recipes and batch sheets accurately when cooking and preparing food. • Check ingredients and food for correct texture, taste, smell, and appearance before mixing. Report any issues to a supervisor. • Fill out batch sheets correctly with all necessary details (lot numbers, quantities, etc.). • Ensure proper labeling and storage of all food and ingredients, following safety guidelines. • Ensure compliance with food safety procedures like cooking times, temperatures, metal detection, and sanitation. • Be present for scheduled shifts; overtime may be required during busy seasons. • Perform other duties as assigned.
