Automation Specialist

Automation Specialist Role Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation, robotics, and production systems. • Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and replacing automation systems throughout the production process. • Troubleshooting non-functioning components, including servos, sensors, and control components, is also essential. • Log equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality. • Reporting to leadership regarding automation capabilities and status is crucial. • Programming, maintaining, and diagnosing variable frequency drives are key skills. • Troubleshooting mix proof valves, setting up chart recorders, diagnosing automatic valves, and calibrating pressure instruments are also necessary. • Designing and building functionality in plant systems platforms and troubleshooting network switches are additional responsibilities. • Maintaining and troubleshooting machine safety circuits, leading RCA events with expertise in automation and controls, and connecting IO-Link Protocol are important tasks. • Troubleshooting CIP and SIP controls is another critical responsibility. Requirements • A technical or trade schooling, military training, and experience, degree in electrical or mechanical field, or certificate for similar is preferred. • 5+ years of industrial automation experience is ideal. • Aveva (Wonderware) System platform experience is highly valued. • Extensive experience programming Allen-Bradley 755 and 525 variable frequency drives is required. • Experience working with Anderson chart recorders is advantageous. • The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working in a CMMS system. • Coordinating maintenance routines, planned/preventative maintenance strategies, and compiling accurate maintenance reports are essential tasks. • Personal knowledge of industrial utility systems is necessary. • Knowledge of thermal processing is beneficial, with emphasis on UHT. • Experience troubleshooting large industrial systems and maintaining electro-mechanical components and systems is required.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Machinist’s Mates (MM) are responsible for operating and maintaining ship propulsion machinery, auxiliary equipment and outside machinery.
