Description Job Summary All-round creative and hands-on CNC Machinist who can use sketches, pictures, and general ideas, to draw in CAD parts and assemblies to make fixturing, stamping tooling and injection molding for small parts. The CNC Machinist takes their CAD, programs (CAM) and the various CNC equipment to build tooling to assist in the assembly of jewelry or plastic injection molding. The CNC Machinist is part of a team that builds their own prototypes or small batches using CAD/CAM and CNC. Essential Functions • Ability to read measurement equipment such as micrometer, caliper and height gauges. • Operate typical machine shop equipment including but not limited to mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders and saws. • Ability to create 3D CAD models, use CAM software to generate toolpaths and able to CNC machine those parts. • Work with minimal supervision and limited detailed drawings or blueprints. • Ability to take initiative and complete projects from CAD to part including inspection with minimal supervision. Minimum Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Fluency in CAD/CAM appropriate for the development of fixturing and/or tooling. • 5 years of CAD experience in developing machined components. • 5 years of experience in CNC machining process development working with 3-Axis, 3+2 Axis, 5-axis milling and CNC Lathe. • Experience in hands-on fabrication for tooling assembly. • Understanding of key metrics and parameters associated with the design of manufacturing processes for machined components. • Demonstrated technical depth in the analysis of, and development of solutions for the challenges in the manufacturing process. • Experience with creating the support and documentation of machine process and validations. • Good overall computer skills and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook. • Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills. • Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Graduation from an accredited technical institution with an Associate degree in machining technology. • CAD experience in developing machined components preferably in a prototype and/or small batch environment. • Expertise in Fusion360 CAM Software. • Expertise in Solidworks CAD Software. • Experience in Solidworks PDM software. • Experience in Plastic Injection Molding. • EDM programming and operation experience.
