CNC Machine Setup

The CNC Machine Setup is responsible for leading and training Machining Operators in achieving safety, quality, productivity, and scrap goals and carry out all required quality inspections using gages and automated inspection equipment (CMM). The candidate will maintain the quality of all production, and containment of non-conforming product within the cell and perform basic machine set-up processes, as well as operator production equipment as needed. Specific Responsibilities: • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all plant and process specific safety policies • Implement 5S in assigned area to maintain proper work-place organization • Operate assigned equipment at specified production rates • Complete and record required TPM and Quality checks to ensure product quality and process integrity • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment as assigned • Record production, quality, and productivity data as assigned • Run CMM reports and make adjustments on equipment • Reading, usage, and reporting using micrometers, dial calipers and other gages • Ability to convert metric to inches • Ability to read control charts and blueprints • Train new associates when necessary • Knowledge of FANUC controls • Knowledge of control vs. spec limits • Perform basic machine set-up processes, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance • Basic knowledge of root cause analysis • Demonstrated knowledge of machine process and quality checks • Basic knowledge of using tool setters • Report to assigned department on time • Demonstrate and maintain a respectful workplace environment • Reports to Supervisor - Machining. • Directs and assigns work to Operators in assigned area. • Frequently interacts with Quality Inspectors, Engineers, Maintenance, and Operators. • Engages with Equipment Service Technicians. • Collaborates with Tooling and Production Supply Engineers. • Ensure applicable product compliance requirements are upheld including but not limited to the Clean Air Act, California Code of Regulation and California Health and Safety Code. Requirements: • High school diploma or GED equivalent or relevant experience • Successful completion of Set-Up Training course • 1 year manufacturing or machine shop experience that includes the use of precision measuring instruments • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. The hourly pay range for this position is $23.50 to $26.80. The final offer will be based on several factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and work location. Responsible for achieving safety and quality goals. Safe and efficient operation of equipment, which may include molders, folders, slitters, liners and printers. Ensure that product is produced according to Quality Control Plans and Quality Standards. Performance of Quality inspections and procedures.
